1) Build up, don't tear down. We're here to help each other get writing, stay writing, and improve writing. In areas where criticisms are warrented, make sure to keep them constructive--and be willing to take constructive criticisms. (If you're sensitive as many writers are, and don't want the criticisms...y
ou're less likely to improve, but by all means mention so in your posts and they'll be considered "off limits"...)
2) Be willing to be silly. Be willing to be serious. Try to be inclusive. There are writers of many varying levels here--some old pros, some newbies, most somewhere in between. Remember that we've all been a newbie, and we'll all (hopefully) one day be old (or young) pros. So, please don't discourage the newbies!!! Or anyone else

)
3) Off-topicness is usually okay with me--within reason. If it's a conversation that others can look at and not feel completely lost in "inside jokes", it's probably fine. If it's not, *I'll* let you know. *dun dun dun*

(And I'll probably erase the 'inside joke' posts...)
