Carter-Orange:
So, what are some of your all time  favorite BSB fanfics and what made them so special to you?
Well, I've still got a hell of a lot to read, so please don't think I've missed any fab stories on purpose here.......... ..

Ray of Hope by kevmylove.  I love the way it's written, it's written in a way in which you can really get into the story and understand the characters and feel what they feel, it keeps you wanting more.  It's fantastic :)

Sinister Devotion by kevmylove.  Again, I love the way it's written, the suspense, the action and the characters, it's also something completely different.  I can picture the story as I'm reading and it makes me want to read more.

Ground Zero by Chaos.  Only noticed this one a few days ago and finished reading last night.  What can I say, it is a fantastic story.  It had me crying, sitting on the edge of my seat in fear and suspense.  The way it's written is really descriptive and I could actually mentally picture everything that happened.

My Mind's Eye by your_ill_july.  Why do I love this one?  Well, it's the way it's written, it's so wonderfully written and the story line is a good one, the idea of Nick being trapped in this unhappy marriage and being a controlled househusband is a real turnaround from the usual kind of situation you read.

Life According To Baylee.  I'm really enjoying it, never thought I'd actually read a story centred around Baylee, but this story is something else, it's well written and has everything in it, in the right amounts.  Still not caught up yet though, but getting there.

What are some of the stories you have written that you are the most proud of and why?
Some of mine are Patience (a Take That fanfic), Never Gone, If Tomorrow Never Comes and Rewind.  I'm proud of them because I hadn't written anything since leaving school and wasn't sure I could actually write anything decent, but I think they are OK.

Why do you find yourself writing about the Backstreet Boys and as your level of fandom has changed over the years, has it affected your writing of the boys?
I find myself writing about them because I love their music and them :)

kevmylove:
Aw, thank you for the mention Steph  ;) I'm very happy you are enjoying my stories!

So, what are some of your all time  favorite BSB fanfics and what made them so special to you?

Searching For Mercy by Honey- It was a group story (although Kevin wasn't in it for too long *clears throat and gives Kelly the evil eye* J/K) It had just the right amount of detail, I was always anxious to find out what was happening next. The guys had pretty much the same personalities, but they lived totally different lives. Oh and it's full of twists...

The Thirteenth Step by Mare- From the first day I started reading this story, I was totally hooked. I was biting my nails, and even laughing out loud in the middle of the night. I was always anticipating updates and it was really well written.

Life According to Baylee- I love this story, because it's a clever storyline. I think it has a little of everything, it can make you feel sad, tear up, mad, and even have a good laugh with Baylee's adventures with his uncles and his best freinds. Another one I'm always anticipating updates from.

(I know I've read more, but these are the only ones I can think of right about now.)

What are some of the stories you have written that you are the most proud of and why?

Sinister Devotion, I went out of my usual genre and i'm trying something new. Which I think I'm doing ok with. I haven't mastered the action parts, but I hope to get better.

Ray of Hope, I think that it's really different from the other stories that I have written. I've put a lot of work into it, and I have lived through some of the events the protagonist goes through.

Why do you find yourself writing about the Backstreet Boys and as your level of fandom has changed over the years, has it affected your writing of the boys?

It comes easy to me, to use one of the guys as my main character in a story, as opposed to just making one up. I guess, because I've been a fan for so long they inspire me. I definately feel like my level of fandom has changed, I'm not the same, HUGE fan I was at some point, and at times I feel like I just want to quit fan fiction, but then...life would be pretty boring :drools: and I'd end up going

So, what are some of your all time  favorite BSB fanfics and what made them so special to you?

First one that stands out in my mind is Lucidity/Stupefied by Stacy, followed by Us Against the World of course. There are a lot of other great stories out there, like just about any of Mette's slash stories (never read her het stuff, but I hear it's amazing too). I lost my fic bookmarks a few years back and still haven't been able to find them all again.

Another great one is Complicate Me, by Kat B (I believe), which is AJ/Eminem and strangely enough it works!

What are some of the stories you have written that you are the most proud of and why?
Despite it being in need of the mother of all rewrites, I still love my first real BSB slash story, which is the Nick & Brian Saga (Our Wicked Ways and What We Are, and the yet unfinished sequel Flight of the Phoenix). Other than that, The Thiery Chronicles, my Nick vampire/AU series. It's taking me forever to write it, but I love this story and universe so much, I wish I could get everything in my head out on paper (screen)! And lastly, The Truth Beneath the Rose, my Bittybang (lj challenge) story, where I proved to myself I could write 20k words in three months. It's AU again, and it's an AU I feel there will be more stories placed in, and I really want to develop the characters a whole lot more!

Why do you find yourself writing about the Backstreet Boys and as your level of fandom has changed over the years, has it affected your writing of the boys?
Not really, although there are less slash writes now it seems. And it's less about BSB slash writes are popslash writes, so a whole new fandom has opened up in a way. But in general, my love for the boys and the main fandom people around me haven't changed much these past few years, and if anything, I've met new people and made new friends. And the amazing slash never ends! ;)
