Fic Talk > Felix Awards 2009
Felix Award for Best Novella (15)
Chaos:
Shawn: I suppose this speech should be a little bit longer, since we're now talking about novellas. But what can one really say except that it's longer than short, but not long enough to be a full novel...
Gus: Actually, though it is shorter than the typical novellas are by definition still considered to be a novel. Though they are not as common today, there are still some famous authors who do publish novellas. Like Stephen King. They usually will publish a few of these shorter novels within a collection--
Shawn: Gus, I don't think we're actually going for the novella-length presentation here. So to spare us a little bit, the Felix for Best Novella goes to:
With runner up:
Howie: Sadly, the CSIs have not yet located Starbeamz2, so we'll accept the award on her behalf. Thank you everyone who nominated and voted!
*Meanwhile, the Criminal Minds team is still down in the Green Room*
Aaron Hotchner: Anyone having any luck yet?
Derek Morgan: So far there's a lot of suspects, but none of them seem quite right for this GottaBeMimi thing.
Emily Prentis: Whoever it is would be seeking attention, yet does not want their identity to be known. That doesn't make any sense.
Morgan: So we're probably looking for someone who is somewhat random.
Prentis: Someone who dabbles in a lot of different fandoms perhaps, yet the stories are still fairly similar to each other.
Morgan: And it would be fairly difficult for someone to pull this off unless they had some sort of back stage access.
Spencer Reid: Unfortunately that's a lot of people. All of the author nominees, Backstreet Boys, Presenters...a ll of us had access.
Morgan: You know, often the unsub will try to make themselves part of the investigation. Throw us off track...
Hotchner: Keep working on it.
