I wasn't here for the '08 awards, no... I missed the '09 ones, too, which is sad cos I won one LOL... I didn't even know until I resurfaced here in May. Then I was like "I won? WHAT??" LOL ... yeah.

Awe, I dunno if I'll actually DO it.... maybe. We'll see. :)

I told them - and I quote -

"As a hobby, I write fan fiction online, and a couple of my stories is up for an award at the website that hosts them. The awards starts at 8:00 and I need to be home by 7:00. Would it be possible to be out by 6:30 so I don't miss the event?"

Missy - my manager's reaction -

"What's fan fiction?"

I'd like to say it's cos I'm just that ballsy/confident or whatever but it's actually just that where I work is owned by a family, and they're literally like my 2nd family. Sometimes I feel closer to my managers than I do my own Dad... and Missy - the one who I was talking to - is like a sister to me, so it really wasn't a big deal. LOL

Lol! That's awesome.  I came up with a total b.s. lie.  Even though I work at a library, I don't think they'd quite understand the importance of a fanfic awards ceremony. :)  I do feel like I should dress up! Maybe I will so you're not alone :)
