Fanfic/writing/fandom etc... Question(s) of the day

<< < (28/76) > >>

Sakabelle:
Don't think I could bring myself to write a rape scene either.

Though, I did write a really stupid one in my first ever fic where Nick gets drunk, tries to rape his girlfriend and the whole story is about how he's got to deal with his horrible drinking/rape problem. But I was like 13 then and it was obviously just done for over the top drama.

Purpura Lipstick:
I don't think anything should be off limits for writing if there is a point to having it in the story.  It is, after all, fiction.  though there are subject matters I choose not to read so I avoid certain stories I know that they are in.  I don't tend to include real wives or children in stories just because I'm not their fan so why would I write about them. I have used them, and Leighanne and Baylee are currently in a story, but in general I make up wives/girlfriends and children.  I'm not sure if I could kill one of the kids either, even if it happened before the story started.

To write a chapter when I am stuck, hrm.  I sometimes re-read previous chapters.  I have been really good about outlining some of my stories lately so sometimes outline more of the story, later chapters.   If I'm really stuck I pester my friend at work and make her listen as a gab outloud.  IF I can ever get a friend on Messenger I'd chat with them but I hardly see anyone on lately.

Hmmmm limits when it comes to writing? The person I was when I began at AC is totally different now, I initially was against writing semi graphic sex scenes (I've done it) rape scenes (I've done it ala FYO) Killing Nick or any boys off *giggles innocently* and finally slash.

Writing slash is definitely not my cup of tea, I have read some and it wasn't bad, but it isn't my thing. Other than Slash, I am pretty much down for trying just about anything, writing in any genre. I've grown so much as a writer in the last year or so and I have everyone at AC to thank for that.

To answer Julilly's question, when I am stuck on an idea I do the following-

1. I watch a movie or some TV for inspiration.

2. Talk to my friends, they usually give me some good ideas.

3. I get good ideas at work, when I am keeping busy and letting my mind not think about the story I'm stuck on.

4. A nice hot shower helps clear my head, or I take a nap.

5. Reading through my old work or just picking up a random book, magazine or manga helps.

6. Playing music. The 400+ song playlist is good for inspiration.

I have another question and I wanted to write it now before I forgot it lol

Do you have an all time favorite scene or chapter you have written in any fanfic that makes you say, wow...that was pretty great if I do say so myself? And don't lie and say "Oh, i've never thought that!" You know you have, so just fess up now! lol

And yes, at the risk of sounding like an ego maniac, you can name more than one if you'd like! lmao

FrickingKaos:
For me, probably the scene in Figured You Out where Nick tries to climb out the bathroom window...that scene was one of my favorites in that story. There are just so many moments in that story, looking back I think "damn, did I really write this? Or did I dream it?"

Sorry if that sounds egotistical. I'm just so darn proud of that story :)
