That's so funny you brought that up because I was going to add on an additional question and that's whether or not you give con crit if it's not specifically asked for lol

If someone has asked for concrit I will give it, but if they didn't I won't. I always welcome constructive criticism....I wish I got it for some of the stories I've been working on actually, it helps me a bit.

I don't think I've ever been flamed or flamed anyone. Like others have said, I generally only review stories that I've enjoyed enough to read more than a chapter of, and I keep my reviews positive, unless the writer is asking specifically for con crit. Con crit is designed to be helpful, but only if the writer is open to it; I've seen people get their feelings hurt because they were blindsided by it and took it personally, and I would never want to do that to someone unintentionall y.

I've never flamed anyone as I think that's really awful. If I don't like a story, I won't read or review it. I don't think I've ever been flamed, although once (on a Take That site I used to post on) someone did tell me that she didn't like how I'd written Gary (I made him an asshole in an AU story).
As for con crit, I don't usually give that either, but last year for the summer reading challenge I did because Tracy wanted to know whether the story flowed OK. I would never want to hurt someone's feelings though and would only give con crit to be helpful. Same goes for me receiving con crit, I'd be alright with it as long as it wasn't something like "hey Steph, your story is crap!" lol.

I have never flamed anyone & I haven't ever been flamed myself. I only give concrit when people ask for it. As far as receiving it, I don't really mind as long as its helpful. If a story is in progress & somebody notices something that needs to be fixed I'm grateful for the advice or suggestions. If a story is long finished though, it just will annoy me lol
