As far as scenes being stuck in my head, as a reader, I tend to remember bits of imagery the best.  Nick digging bot flies out of Jordan's brain - pretty sure that visual's never leading LOL.  Mare's lobster-clawed priest - he stayed with me (haha).  Nick walking around inside that dead woman's body in Hawk and Handsaw...  Yeah, I tend to remember the gross stuff, apparently! LOL

When I'm writing, it's the really intense scenes that stay with me.  The climactic scenes of both Broken and BMS... the first zombie chapter of Undead... the arrhythmia sequence in CC.  If it my makes MY heart race while I'm writing it, it'll stick with me for awhile.

When writing, do you ever exaggerate certain parts of the Boys? For example, I know we've all exaggerated Nick's blonde moments (so you can't use that as your answer), but like say Brian's accent or Howie's winking? What's your favorite thing to exaggerate of them?

We definitely exaggerate Howie's winking in 00Carter - Dr. Rough has an eye twitch that becomes more pronounced whenever he's stressed out or angry.  He's definitely a caricature, so everything about him is exaggerated.

Other than that, I'm not sure... I certainly use their various traits and habits, but I can't think of any that I knowingly exaggerate.

I don't think this was already asked: (I could have just missed it)

What time of day do you find it easier to write?

A few months ago I might have said at night between 9-11pm but I have found that I am having difficulty writing at night. Now I write between the hours of 11am-3pm, at work.  I know it is because my work is sporadic so to keep busy I focus on writing so that I'm looking at my computer.  Then I go home and either don't want to be on the computer or I want to not think while on my computer, meaning I want to play games. HEH.  I don't want to write something that I want to publish and possibly make money on while at work, it seems wrong to me so my OF isn't moving anywhere at the moment.

I would turn off the internet but I need it to talk to my "editor/friend" and to research.  I've tried just not opening the game pages but ultimately I find that I do.  I know the first thing I need to do is close those pages and focus on writing.

I want to do more sprints with Saka-Steph at night, it helps.  I used to write while Erika was writing too and it helped. HEH.

I find it easier to write in the evening as the kids are out of my way, but I usually get distracted by the TV.  I like writing on the weekend too.

I usually can write best late late at night or early in the morning because that's when I'm awake due to work. I can also write in the evening as well, it just depends on if I'm in the mood to write or not.

I usually write best late in the evening, or on my lunch break at work when I force myself to actually write and not waste time on the internet. But in the evening when it's dark and quiet is when I tend to get a lot of writing done. Even on the weekends lately I find that I have a hard time writing during the day. Though, sometimes on weekends if I wake up and the first thing I do is sit down to write, that works out well. I guess because my mind is clear first thing in the morning.

I write best first thing in the morning or late at night.  2-3 a.m. is the best time because everyone else is asleep and there's nothing on TV, so there's not much to distract me.

I've read advice saying to write first thing in the morning when your mind is clear but I can't get up early enough to even try it.

I always write first thing in the morning. As the day goes on, there are more distractions that get in the way.

I could never get up early enough to write before work, but on weekends or breaks, writing in the morning works out pretty well if I have nowhere to be that day.  I find that I have to write BEFORE getting online to check the forums or Twitter or email or anything because otherwise, I get distracted and have a hard time getting back into writing mode.  Like Steph said, I have to do it when my mind is clear.  I can't write when I know there are other things I should be doing or when I only have a limited time to do it (like when I know I have to get ready to go somewhere or go to bed in an hour).

Yes that's why writing during the school year is much harder for me. I always feel like there's something else I should be doing and guilt myself out of writing.

I don't really do anything well at night. I turn into a blob as soon as my dinner is finished and my jammies go on lol

I find the morning much more productive. I get most of my writing done while I'm at work on the weekend.

Come to think of it... I actually write much better on a desktop computer with a real keyboard than I do on my laptop. Does anyone have a certain type of computer, phone, etc setup that they prefer?
