Question of the Day Part 5
mare:
First of all thanks Julie, Rose, Steph and Tracy for the mentions of my stories. Especially Fly Fishing. I always beam with pride when you guys acknowledge that one. It's always flattering to see someone say you're their favorite.
Now to answer the villains question. To me what makes a great villain is someone who has multi layers. I love writing and thinking of back stories for all my villains, even if I don't make them known to the readers. It's important for me to know why they do the things they do.
You guys covered a lot of the ones I was going to mention like Mo in Scared of Reality and the bodyguard in Mind Games. Also the woman in Seven Days and the guy in charge in Boys in the Basement. Mersey is also a queen of inventing great multi layered villains which is why I named my villain in the Protect and Serve series after her!
As far as the fan in Beautiful Girl, I'm glad you see in her the kind of psycho fan I as trying to create. Someone who was crazy but at first seemed sane. As her life started to spiral so did her mind. Thanks so much for mentioning her. I really take that as a compliment since it was the first short story I ever wrote.
Which brings me to my favorite villain to read, which is the villain because of circumstances beyond their control. The people who can't help but like just a little. Even if they are completely evil, you can kind of see and even understand why they do the things they do. I love reading stories like that! It's probably why Malfoy and Snape were two of my all time favorite villains to read. I loved to hate them but also secretly found myself rooting for them as well. lol I wrote Max hoping for that same kind of feeling so again thanks for mentioning him.
Purpura Lipstick:
Thanks for the mentions Steph and Tracy. I quite enjoyed writing Nick in that role. :)
And I can't believe I forgot Valarie as a villain.... loved her wacko craziness.
Sakabelle:
Valerie was a favourite villain of mine as well.
As for favourite stories for each boy..

A lot of those are newer but I have a terrible memory for stuff I've read lol
mare:
Thanks, Steph lol Documentaries rocks!
Your Curtain Call mention brings me to a very morbid question lol
If one of the boys were dying and decided to do a final goodbye tour, would you go?
RokofAges75:
Haha, you did ask it!
I think I would go if I was able to. I would be a mess, but if it was the choice between seeing them perform one last time and not seeing them perform, I'd rather go and see them perform, even if it was going to be horribly emotional. Like most things I write in stories, though, that is something I never want to happen in real life!
Thanks for listing CC as your favorite, Steph!
