It's time once again to nominate your favourites for the Felix Awards 2012!

Please read this carefully...

The nomination period will last for one month. You have until November 30, 2012 at 11:59 p.m. EDT to send in your noms by filling out the following form: http://absolutechaos.net/felixawards/2012noms.html.

In order for a category to make it through the nomination round it must have at least three (3) nominees to a maximum of (10) ten.
 
YOU MAY NOT NOMINATE YOURSELF!

Like last year, you will be able to nominate for two different types of genre-based awards; story and author. (They don't have to be the same person, you can choose a story by one person and still say overall your fav author in that genre is someone else.)

Lastly, take a look at the winners from the past four years before you nominate a story. If an author has already won an award in that category for the same fic, they cannot be nominated again. You can only win one time in one category.

The reasons we do these awards every year:

"When are the awards?"

"Woot! AWARDS TIME!"

"I am soooo happy you're doing this again this year!!"

"I feel so great to be nominated for something I've written, it really helps get me motivated!"

"Thank you so much for doing these, I look forward to it every year!"


These awards are not going to nominate themselves. As of now we have so few nominations that it seems like a waste of time so if you really do feel all that up there ^ start nominating! LOL

I've been so busy. Its hard to do the nominations without a computer. It's a process so I will try to get mine in soon

It is a process; I really had to put some thought into it this year.  I like the fact that the genre categories prevent the same stories and authors from being nominated for everything, but it does require you to broaden your horizons when nominating, unless you're a reader who reads a little of everything.  Not that you have to nominate in every category, but since there are so few categories and so many deserving authors, I wanted to fill every field on the form. I  don't think I ended up nominating in every category, but I did most of them.

It does take time and effort, but real awards should. I know it's a pain in the butt to put links and really sort out who should win what and then make sure they haven't already won etc... but then in the end, the people who really deserve to win should.

Then again, it's usually the people who don't bother doing all the work who are the same ones who complain that it's unfair and that the same people seem to win every year. Maybe if more people were actively involved we'd have a more diverse group of nominees.

I do think it's great to fill in every category but you shouldn't really nominate anything unless you've actually read it. So hopefully you guys are just truly nominating based on things you have read and enjoyed and not because your friend wrote it. Remember they can be older stories too, or from anyone on AC, not just people on this forum.
