Question of the day part 9 (even though days go by lol)
mare:
I do agree with you about the later kind. If there has to be a banner, one with the simple title and some kind of imagery to go with the story is less annoying to look at than a guy and a girl. lol
RokofAges75:
How do you go about choosing names for characters?
FrickingKaos:
I have a name book that I go through, or sometimes I use people I know for the names.

Do you use a generic girl on them or a famous person and if you do use a famous person aren't you afraid that people will just think the story is about that boy and that famous person?
Why do you think it's important to attach an image of the female lead instead of just letting your own description speak for itself?
I don't mean to sound snarky, I am legitimately curious about this because whenever I see a famous person in a banner I think the story is about that person only to find out later it is supposed to be someone else entirely.

If I've used a girl in the banner, I've chosen someone not so well known. In fact, I think I may have only used a girl once in my banners and I chose the actress who plays Amy in Doctor Who (so she's well known if you like Doctor Who lol).
I think that if you're writing a story about one of the boys with a girl and you have him in the picture, then it's nice to have the girl in the picture too. I also like banners/book covers that leave it all to the imagination too.

I use friends, work people or sometimes from TV/films. Sometimes I've based characters on real people, but changed the name just in case anyone ever discovered my stories :)
