It was actually his lungs, Mare. The piece of plane landed on his chest REALLY HARD and crushed his lungs. The story mentioned it several times in the same paragraph; weren't you reading?! LOL

Nick almost dies at a concert after his harness was tampered with (this was during the Millennium tour, when they flew over the audience), and my self-insert is a doctor in the audience who comes to his aid, and then Brian and I get kidnapped from the hospital, and it turns out it was NSYNC behind all of this, and Brian almost gets raped by Lance Bass. That's only Part 1 of 3; it used to be three separate stories that I combined into one, and I don't even remember what happened in the other two. More crazy things LOL.

This is a one-shot in which Nick is on the verge of shooting himself in the head before a show, until he thinks of the lyrics to Everyone and realizes he shouldn't kill himself because the fans love him too much. Then he kicks the gun under the green room couch and goes to perform like nothing happened. Dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb! This was during my suicide story phase.

So... one of my friends suggested I write a story about one of the Backstreet Boys being addicted to drugs. I stupidly said, "Okay!" when though I knew nothing about addiction or drugs at the time I tried to write a story about Brian getting addicted to painkillers after a car accident, but, being a fairly naive fifteen-year-old, most of my drug knowledge came from DARE and my freshman health class. I think I did try to do some research... using Encarta '95, since I didn't have internet in my room LOL. When I found that morphine, codeine, and heroin are all opiates, I was like, "Okay! I'm gonna have Brian get addicted to opium!" Not realizing that pure opium is not something a modern doctor would prescribe LOL. The story would have worked out a lot better if I'd set it in 18th century China LOL.

I don't know that Nick ever does cry out in despair in this story. I think it just sounded like a good, generic, angsty title, regardless of whether it actually fit the plot or not LOL.

I think this story is unique and worth reading, but the long hiatus in updates and the fact that it's an AU about Brian and AJ instead of Nick probably turned people off.

This was another storyline that was suggested by a reader, and I said "Okay!" and started writing it, only to realize I hated it. Then I impulsively tacked on an ending so I could call it done and said I'd write a sequel to tell the rest of the story, which I have never written and never will.
