Anyone can join, as long as doesn't mind a little bit of blood. And tears. And pain. Lot of pain. LOL

Inspired by the question thread, I think that we should list our "angsty" songs and they don't have to be only BSB related.

Some of those same artists, like Linkin Park, Evanescence, and James Blunt, have lots of angsty songs I love, but I didn't want to make the list even longer by naming them all.

Usually when I'm actually writing angsty stuff, I listen to instrumental music, mostly movie scores.  My favorite angsty instrumental music is from Braveheart and Requiem for a Dream.  I listened to this particular track from the Braveheart soundtrack (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xv3Kxg56Dak) so many times as I was writing the choppage part of Broken that I can no longer watch that part of the without thinking of poor one-legged Nick LOL.

I don't use songs to write angsty things but when I need to cry I always listen to Wild Horses by Natasha Bedingfield

Songs that make you cry... that'd be another good list.  Mine would overlap with the angsty list - Gone Without Goodbye is a prime example - but there are other songs that I didn't even put on the list that make me cry for strange reasons.

The song "There Goes My Life" by Kenny Chesney makes me cry because it makes me think of my dad, and when I was in college and it came out, it made me homesick.  I don't even like country music, but I love that song.

The song "Baby Mine" from Dumbo makes me bawl like a baby as I picture that scene (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CORf1liT9cE), and I'm not even sure why because, in the scheme of Disney movies, it shouldn't be THAT sad.  It's not like Dumbo's mom dies.  But it's so sad!  Like I literally just looked it up on YouTube so I could put the link here, and I'm sitting here with big fat tears rolling down my cheeks.  Every time!

A related one that I rediscovered as I was writing Curtain Call is the "Mother Earth and Father Time" song from Charlotte's Web (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eHMaiQimSYU).  I like to make mix CDs, and I made one for Curtain Call as I was writing it to keep me inspired, and I was playing it in my car one time, and this song came on, and I was like, OMG, why did I put this on here?!  Totally made me cry.  I am kind of a masochist as well as a sadist, though, so I like stuff that makes me cry; it's cathartic.

There is one song that makes me cry everytime and it's "Come What May".
Others... well, it depends on the mood I am.

I don't think a song has ever made me cry...books and films however are a different matter!

There are quite a few that make me boohoo!

Mainly because they remind me of things and people. I included links to songs even though I'm sure you have heard them all, if you guys want to cry! LOL

"For Good" from Wicked because it's the song Maria, Mersey and I have adopted as our song!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CQJaZO2nfGg

"Goodbye My Friend" Sang this at my friend Jackie's funeral after she died from cancer. Friggin' cancer!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aBHcUv_42zI

"If These Walls"  Amy Grant reminds me of when I moved away from Boston after college
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XVf4ge1DX3s

"You'll be in My Heart" the song and video I made for Jean's last birthday before she died of cancer. Friggin' cancer!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fCk3QJ11HEw

"Wild Horses" just in case you have never heard it!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-f11ZV7I7n4

Now if this post wasn't loaded with angst I don't know what more I could do! LOL
