Things we don't know about you

Carter-Orange:
Another thing, I hate mayo! Disgusting stuff lol

RokofAges75:
I was too busy to take the time to think of anything for this thread when it was posted, but I have more time now (a.k.a. I'm actually bored), so I'll resurrect it and give this a shot.

10 things you may or may not know about me...

1. I'm left-handed, as is my mom and sister.  My dad is ambidextrous; my mom's theory is that he was actually born a lefty, too, but was forced into being a righty as a small child.  Who knows.

2. I come from a long line of teachers on my mom's side and am the fifth generation to become an elementary school teacher.  My mom is a teacher, as was her mother (my grandma), as was HER mother (great-grandma), and even HER mother (great-great-grandma), back in the days when women taught for just a few years until they got married and started having babies, then had to quit teaching.

3. I hate tomatoes, but like ketchup, salsa, tomato soup, and tomato sauce, as long as it doesn't have big chunks of tomato in it.

4. I used to hate mayonnaise to the point that I would gag just looking at it, but over the years, I have learned to tolerate it.  I never buy it unless I need it for a recipe and never put it willingly on my food (unless it's mixed with something and no longer looks/tastes like mayo), but if it comes on a sandwich at a restaurant, I will eat it and not gag.

5. I have never seen The Breakfast Club or Ferris Bueller's Day Off all the way through.

6. I have had recurring nightmares about dinosaurs ever since I saw Jurassic Park in 1993.  I don't have them very often these days, but every once in awhile, I still find myself being chased by a T-Rex or velociraptor in my dreams. Despite this, I still love Jurassic Park and dinosaurs!

7. I tend to be picky about the things I watch/read/listen to/eat/like, but when I find something I like, I will watch/read/listen to/eat it over and over again.  I re-read books, re-watch movies and TV series, and listen to the same songs/albums incessantly.  I'm a creature of habit and usually prefer things that are familiar to things that are brand new.

8. I love what South Park calls "informative murder porn" - a.k.a. true crime documentaries, as seen on Investigation Discovery.  I don't watch many cop/detective dramas because I find most of them formulaic and cliche, but I love documentaries about murders, serial killers, kidnappings, disappearances, and other mysteries.  I watch a lot of the ID channel.

9. I also love history and watching historical documentaries.  Since the History Channel doesn't show much that actually relates to history anymore, I get my fix on Netflix.  I minored in history in college.  Oddly, I have never enjoyed reading historical fiction, though I do enjoy (some) period piece movies.

10. I love music and consider myself somewhat musical.  I took piano lessons for seven years as a child, but the only piece I can still play entirely by heart is "My Heart Will Go On."  Anything else requires sheet music and lots of practice to play.  I also played the clarinet in school and sang in choir in junior high, high school, and college.  I love to sing, but don't like to sing in front of other people.  These days I do most of my singing in my car.

I don't know if I've ever mentioned my recurring T-rex dreams before or not. The only difference is in my dreams, the T-Rex was mentally challenged and would be growling at me but them run into a wall and start to cry. I was always in a castle for some reason and after about the fifth time he'd do that, I'd turn around, stop running and say "There's something wrong with that dinosaur" when a random ghost (also mentally challenged) would come out of nowhere and say "I'm a ghost! Boo!!" lmao

RokofAges75:
LMAO!  Random!

That's like my mum. She does everything except write with her left hand because when she was a child in school they would tie her left hand behind her chair and force her to use the right.
