Mare, I just 'membered this particular premise from this particular challenge (one of my favorites), and I realized that South Park either stole your idea, or you predicted the future again, because this reminds me so much of the "member berries" from last season of South Park: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ncps_RYHoAI  They didn't tell anyone to kill people, but they did play a role in convincing people to vote for our current president, which is just about as morally reprehensible.
