Eww...I hate writing sex scenes.
starbeamz:
I'm writing my fifth sex scene ever, and the first one I've written in a year and a half, and I'm icking myself out. I just can't do it, but, unfortunately, I need to because it makes sense with the story.
Has anyone else felt weird about writing love scenes? If so, do you get past it and write one anyway, or do you just not write them? And, if you do write one, are there any particular techniques you use to not feel weird when you write one?
Off I go to try to write this scene...*insert barfing smiley here*
MonkeyAbu:
Sex scenes/vizzies can be difficult to write sometimes. But they are sometimes necessary for a story plot.
I don't think I have ever written a sex scene in one of my stories, but I've considered it. I have however written a short vizzie or two as a sort of writing exercise when it comes to sort of delving into that area of writing. It was very weird the first time and still weird after that. But one way to get past that I think is to maybe imagine yourself in the female character's role. How would you be feeling in the situation? How would you want it to go? What would you do sexually? I dunno. I think it also makes the sex scene seem a little more realistic when you are writing it out while mentally placing yourself in the situation.
Sakabelle:
I hate writing them too, which is funny because my friends and I used to write them together when we were in High School.
MonkeyAbu has a good suggestion -- to try and place yourself in the position of the female character. When it comes time to write mine I think I'll try that :)
Purpura Lipstick:
HEH! I can't write sex scenes if I place myself in them, I get weirded out that I'm sharing a "fantasy" with everyone. .... PLUS all my stories that might have them involve Nick and ew ew ew :p
honey:
I couldn't do it. I don't think ever. I got a little graphic with the rape scene in Cinderella and it was the hardest thing I've ever done. and it wasn't a full on vizzie. ewe. I have a hard enough time reading them. I usually skip over the sex in stories. And when I write I definitely am the fade to black type.
good luck Sarah. I'm giggling right now because it would be weird to read a sex scene from you. I can't remember if there was one in second chances or not, but I don't think so. Which story is it?
