Sarah walked through the park, tears escaping her eyes. Everything is all screwed up...I don't know how it got this way, she thought to herself as the cold wind hit her tear stained face.
She slumped down on a bench reliving the memory of his proposal and looked around with a regretful sigh. Central Park always looked so beautiful when the leaves changed from their rich summer green to the vibraint yellows and reds of late autum, the perfect time for a wedding. "How could I have been so stupid?"
It happened so fast, she barely knew what hit her. First the rush of the ambulance, then the sounds of her friends and family crying, so loud it hurt her ears then fading into the distance as she realized that she was the one they were crying for...or more appropriately, mourning for.
LOL! Sorry I keep modifying it. I'm done now, I promise. I hope I didn't mess anyone up/ :P
It was as if it came in a dream, the way it hazily floated through her mind now. Constantly replaying in her mind. It was so surreal. No one would believe the truth of it all. It was beyond the world's perceptions of what reality was. Something only told in fairy tales or horror movies, not supposed to exist or occur here. But it had. It had and it had happened to her of all the people in the world. It was anything but fair. A sigh came then. She knew the truth of the accident. What happened before the ambulances, firetrucks, police, and family came. She wondered, could she tell them? Could she warn them of what was to come next? She knew the truth, what was to come, and the inevitability of it all burned within her damaged soul.
And she knew that, if she didn't find a way to show them, someone else would fall, too. More importantly, she needed to find a way to show HIM before it was too late. Because he was next.
All she could hope for was that he didn't blame her for the whole situation. There was more going on here than any of them could hope to understand.
P.S. I don't know if I'm allowed to add more from me because I'd already put in a part before, but meh. Oh, and I brought "him" back because I figured the beginning had something about his proposal, etc.
She woke with a sweat...Damn it dreaming again...why does this keep happening to me...maybe cause I'm a liar and I have a dark secret that I need to get off of my chest. she looked in the mirror she rubbed her red and swollen eyes, she must of been crying all night. I mean who dreams that they die...or that they kill...I'm still trying to figure the whole thing out...I'm getting married in three hours. Damn it!
We can add all we want...it's OUR story! LOL
"Nick what the hell are you reading?" Nick looked up to the confused, yet amused stares of his other bandmates. He hated when he zoned out especially when it happened as he was doing something the others could mock him for.
Before he could answer AJ grabbed the book out of his hands and laughed when he saw the cover of it, "Oh my God Carter, are you freaking kidding me? Get a load of this Rok! It's one of those corny love stories!"
Nick tried to grab the book out of Aj's hand but he had flung it to Brian before he had the chance, "Nick...what are you doing with this? In Love We Trust?" They all laughed at the title as Brian flipped the book over and started to read the summary, "Sarah Anderson was about to make the biggest mistake of her life. How could she marry Grant even though her feelings were clearly for someone else..."
"Jesus make it stop! I want to take a nap already and I haven't even read the first page." AJ mocked.
"Shut up guys, a fan gave it to me."
"Riiiight." AJ answered, walking over to Brian and giving him a high five.
"You both suck!" Nick pouted just as Kevin and Howie walked into the room.
"Because ninety-nine percent of the time, it is something you did. Done. Whatever," Howie shrugged, taking the book into his hands. An eyebrow raised and he glanced back at Nick. "I really don't think I want to know..."
"What'd you do now, Nick?" Kevin asked with a sigh, sitting down in a nearby chair.
"I didn't do anything!" he exclaimed. "Why does it always have to be something I did?"
hahahahaha Mare is Brilliant!!!! Love the twist!
"Because ninety-nine percent of the time, it is something you did. Done. Whatever," Howie shrugged, taking the book into his hands. An eyebrow raised and he glanced back at Nick. "I really don't think I want to know..."
Kevin grabbed the book from Howie and laughed as he examined both covers. "Something you wanna share with the rest of the class, Nick?"
Nick looked around the room, all his band mates eyes piercing him. He snatched the book from Kevin's hands "As a matter of a fact no...I happen to like this book that a very nice and sweet fan wrote for me."
AJ began to laugh "He's getting worse...next he's going to tell us that he likes the girl and wants to make sweet love to her." Nick looked at him puzzled "What? How did you know." they all looked at each other confused.
Nick rolled his eyes; his attempt at sarcasm was apparently not registering with them. "Look, I have a plan-"
"Here we go..." Kevin interjected, shaking his head.
"Hear me out!" Nick argued. As the youngest member of the group, he felt like he always seemed to fight to be listened to. "I figured reading this might give me some clue as to what women want." He waited expectantly for a few moments for someone to tell him what a stupid idea they thought it was. Pleasantly surprised at the lack of negative responses - so far, at least - he continued. "If anything it'll at least help show my sensitive side."
"You have one of those?" Howie asked with a grin. "I wonder some times."
"Yeah, like when he put Jello in your pillowcase two weeks ago?" AJ laughed, remembering Howie's paniced expression as he examined his hair for any trace of the gelatin dessert.
(On a sidenote I just wanted to say to Mare that I love the title of the story! LOL As a romance writer I appreciate it! LOL! Anyway, I hope I can still participate. Here I go!)
"Shut up AJ, some of us aren't naturally as talented as you are. Some us have to learn how to tempt a woman and then screw her over after," Nick snickered. "You'd think I'd have learned everything from being around you, but sadly all I see is the end result...which is woman after woman calling you a prick. Hmm...maybe the best thing to do is to read this, at least in these stories, the guy gets the girl in the end. You sure you don't wanna read it?"
"Whoa buddy, if you value your life, you'll run and run fast..." AJ said with deadly calm.
lol great story so far guys, can't wait for the next update... I'm reviewing the story without even relising, damned autopilot lol
Nick smirked and said "Well it's true. I'm not saying I'm all halo and wings over here, I've done my fair share but look at my past relationships. .. I need some sort of female guidance. Can't hurt can it?" watching his brothers expressions.
AJ sighed looking serious "Maybe not... but we can still tease the shit out of ya!" he said cackling with laughter as the others joined him.
Nick frowned staring at them "Guys, I was being serious for once, you know... like how serious Howie is with his hair?"
Howie gasped looking at Nick the turned to the others "Holy shit... he's very serious"
"I give this two weeks before you're bored out of your mind." AJ said, again giving the covers of the book a once-over.
"I give you two seconds to give me my book back before I fart on you." Nick threatened.
"Yeah Nick, that's totally your sensitive side shining through right there." Kevin rolled his eyes and laughed as AJ tossed the book at Nick.
"If I was already a sensitive guy, would I be reading this s- book?" Nick asked.
"I guess not..."
"Besides," Nick continued, "this book was written by a woman who is obviously going to make up the main guy the way her female readers would want their dream guys to be. If I can follow the character's ideas and personality, I might be able to really get a woman to like me. Know what they want, and give it to them," he added grandly.
The other four just stared at him. Finally, Brian wasn't able to hold back the snicker.
"Nick. That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard! Leigh reads those books, and she's never once wanted me to be like the guys in them. How do you know other women will want that from you?"
Nick frowned and glanced at the book in his hand. "Because I do. I just have this feeling."
"Oh, yeah. We know what 'feeling' you have," AJ joked.
"Shut up." Nick glared at his friends as they all began to hoot with laughter. "You'll see. I'll read this, and then I'll apply everything I've learned. Before you know it, I'll be the one raking in all the women."
Kevin lifted a brow. "Oh, really?"
"Yes." Nick puffed out his chest. "Really."
"Fine." AJ stood and held out a hand. "I bet you won't make it through that book nor will you get the girl."
"Uh, guys? Maybe betting on that isn't the best idea," Howie interjected.
"Shut it, Howie." Nick reached out and shook AJ's hand. "You're on."
I must have fallen asleep reading that stupid book, Nick realized as he rubbed the sleep from his eyes. He hadn't even remembered dozing off, but the book was still open to the same exact page he was on five hours earlier and the page looked wrinkled as if he had been laying on top of it. There was also a tiny wet spot on the thick paper that could've resembled drool.
"So, that interesting of a book, huh Carter?" AJ teased. "Tell me, did you learn anything yet? Because I don't think the ladies would be too imrpressed if you fell asleep on them like that."
"Screw you," he muttered, running a hand through his matted hair.
"Wow, Nick," AJ said with a laugh, "You really have turned into quite the lady charmer." He ducked as Nick reached back and threw a pillow at him.
"Why, is it working on you?" Nick smirked.
AJ screwed up his face just like he had sucked on a lemon "Dude! Seriously thats sick"
Nick laughed and walked over to the door to his room and said "You know you want me J, come and get me"
Nick cried out dashing out the door as AJ charged at him yelling profanities chasing after him down the hallway.
Just as Kevin, Brian, and Howie were about to turn a corner down the hallway, Kevin put his right arm out, stopping Brian from a head-on collision with a frantically running Nick being chased by an angry AJ. The three left standing in the hallway simply watched as their bandmates continued their chase down the hallway.
"Are we agreed that we don't wanna know?" Kevin asked, not looking back but instead keeping his gaze down the hall.
"Agreed." Brian and Howie said in unison, also staring.
"I'm gonna reach you and when I do your going to regret it...you idiot!" AJ ran faster as Nick dashed down the stairs.
He ran trying not to miss a step and trying to keep himself from being tempted to look back, but just as he did.
He missed the last step and ended up coliding with somebody.
Everything had gone blank for a second, but AJ's uncontrollable laughter brought him back to his senses.
Nick realized he wasn't the only one on the ground as he looked to his side and met a beautiful pair of Hazel eyes.
Nick quickly jumped up and put out his arm for the girl he'd toppled over. "I'm so sorry," he apologized.
"It's okay," she answered while taking Nick's hand, using her other hand to push herself off the ground. "We both should have been watching where we were going."
"Are you hurt?"
"No, I don't think so..." the girl brushed some dirt off of her tight-fitting denim capris. "Are you?"
"No... I'm okay..." Nick smiled, causing her to smile back.
"Oh! I'm Olivia, by the way." She said with a laugh, shaking Nick's hand as she'd noticed he hadn't put it down.
"I'm Nick. Nice to meet you. At least, it would have been if I hadn't knocked you over."
Olivia laughed, and he could tell he'd started to blush as his cheeks were starting to feel warm. It was then he remembered that AJ was probably still behind him. Almost as if he'd read Nick's mind, AJ then let out a cough.
"And this is-" Nick began, gesturing back to where he thought AJ was before being surprised by the tattooed man appearing right next to him.
"I'm AJ." He grinned.
*hope it's alright I wrote so much, I'm kinda inspired today! and the name I gave the girl was randomly picked, hope it's okay lol.
Olivia looked over at AJ still wearing a smile then froze looking at him "You!"
AJ frowned then looked at her closer peering over his trademark sunnies "Me? What about me?"
She sniffed raising her head bringing her height up fully and said snottily "Your the one that almost ran me over yesterday!" and she stormed off in a huff.
The guys watched her leave then Nick snickered "Dude, you never told us you have a close encounter of the running over kind?"
AJ turned slowly towards Nick tilting his heads sideways then moved his hand to Nick's brow "Are you feeling alright? Because what you said was the stupidest thing I've ever heard!"
Nick frowned thinking then said as the went to look for the guys "I thought it was abit clever, better than Kevin's attempt at one the other day. What was it again?"
Nick calmed down and raised an eyebrow at the tattooed man. "How did you almost run her over, anyway?"
LOL was that a sarcastic funny about my part of the story or are you still laughing at my siggy???
PS: Nick, I got a newsflash for you... we have this new fad going around. It's called UNDERWEAR. Boxers, briefs and boxer briefs. Helps keep Little Nicky from flopping around when doing pelvic thrusts.
AJ chuckled nervously rubbing his hands together walking out the stairwell door "I was driving along and hit a pot hole and my glasses fell off....so I kinda leaned over grabbing them off the floor"
Nick bit his lip as the entered the restaurant seeing the others just sitting down. He took a breath calming the bubbles of laughter ready to burst forth and said "Really? You do know that was... that was..." he couldn't hold out any longer and burst out laughing as they reached their table, scaring and surprising people around them.
AJ blushed pushing Nick down in his seat "Shut it Nick, not like your such a hot driver yourself" sitting down grumpily.
They finally reached the table and AJ began to pull his chair. Kein looked at them annoyed by all their noise "What the hell is the commotion guys?""Don't try to take Nick's job as the pouter of the group," Kevin warned with a raised eyebrow. "Besides, it doesn't work on me."
Right after his question Nick busted out in laughter again "Well for your information, AJ was just confirming that he is a clumsy driver."
AJ gave him a piercing look as the table went dead silent.
"Well...umm...I have to admit that you do kinda suck at driving AJ" Kevin blurted as Nick snickered.
"Yeah he is right..." Brian added.
"Uhuh! that one time you missed the stop and we..." Howie stopped as AJ pinched his arm.
"Thanks guys!" he pouted.
Burying his head in his menu he heard a soft but confident female voice say "Hello I'm Olivia your waitress, are you all ready to order?"
Nick grinned dopely at Olivia as Kevin said "I'm ready" looking at the others for confirmation.
They all nodded except AJ which all you could see was the top of his head. Brian kicked AJ under the table which in turn made AJ yell out "What the fuck was that for?" looking up at Brian.
Howie cleared his throat and said "Actually i think we need another couple of minutes please Olivia" giving her a 'sorry for that' look.
She smiled at him and said "No problem just wave me over when your ready" and headed to another table who were ready to be served.
4 faces turned to AJ once she was out of ear shot and all spoke at once.
:D :o That is hilarious...yo u put those warnings on your picture...I couldn't help but LOL!!! It makes it even funnier... ::)
Kevin gave AJ a stern look "What the hell was that? Could you be ruder?"
Howie and Brian now turned their heads at Kevin "Uh is that a word, Kevin."
"Hell I don't...it just sounded appropriate at the time. Now can we get to the bottom of this freaks rude encounter with the waitress"
They all turn back to look at AJ, as he looks around the room trying to avoid the guys glares.
"Well are you going to tell them or should I..." Nick began to laugh...
