Title: The "What If" Challenges
Post by: Rose on September 09, 2009, 10:51:54 PM
So basically I have a Writing Fiction class this semester, just to help me get better. :) Our textbook, called "What If?", is basically nothing but a TON of writing challenges. So I figured I could start a thread, and post ones I come upon that I feel are the best ones in the book.

The first one is called...

"Solving For X" or aka, the ABC challenge.

This is a challenge where, it can be about anything. However, each sentence MUST start with the next letter of the alphabet. Like "Always, I'm left alone. Best that I try not to show how much it hurts as I walk out the door. Careful, yes, to keep my face neutral. Don't say anything, just let them go."

...Or something. The story can't go on any longer than the 26 sentences. It's just meant to be a short. :) I'm actually using this one for an assignment in that class.

Enjoy!

I'm taking Creative Writing this semester, since next year, I'm aiming to get my Master's in Creative Writing. This book sounds like it could be quite useful. Who's the author?
