Hello everyone!
This month's featured author is Erika and she has chosen her story Fight Me to be featured. We are going to start doing things a little differently from now on. Since it really seems like no one actually reads along, instead of assigning chapters i'm just going to say if you haven't read it, read along this month!
Once a week i'll drop in and ask some questions maybe start a discussion going but don't wait for me. If you have any comments or questions for Erika about this or any of her other stories, feel free to come in and ask her!

Some of the things I wrote did happen to a friend of mine!
2) How long did it take you to write this entire story?
It took me about four months to finish. I think it's because I was really inspired.
3) Give us a summary different from the one you have posted on AC, with a few more spoilers to make people tune in.
After being UfC's champion for two years, Nick's passion for fighting has faded and even his friends have given up on him. It's not till Howie finds out he has a daughter and has her stay with Nick, that she gets him up and running with her positivity. But the twosome run into a bookie who is bad news and is after Nick... (I really suck at summaries)
4) What made you come up with the concept of this one?
I have a MMA fighter friend and one day he was telling me about how hard it is to stay fit and out of trouble in that sport. Then he told me about a run in he had with a bookie and how he almost lost his life for not giving into what the bookie wanted.
5) Who was your favorite character in this story and why?
It would have to be Max. She goes through so much, but still keeps going and gets Nick back on his feet in the process. She also sees him differently than everyone else.
6) You had to know this was coming, who was your least favorite?
I'm gonna say Howie for being a coward and not really facing his responsibiliti es and giving it to Nick.
7) Are all the boys in this one? If not why did you choose to exclude them?
Yes they are. Well Brian and Kevin are in the shadows...but there.

I haven't had a chance to check this one out yet, but it has been on my list. Nick as a UFC fighter is like... the hottest idea ever lol. What made you choose him for the role?

That's really interesting that it was kind of based on real events, sounds like a dangerous sport to get mixed up in (I don't even know what it is, only that it's fighting).

I agree that Howie was a coward. What made you decide to use Howie as the father?
It was a toss up between Kevin and Howie since they are the oldest. Then I remembered that I used Kevin as the father in SD. So I went with Howie. He just wasn't supposed to turn out to be such a coward, but it worked for the story. lol. Thank you Lore for the question ;)

hehe...yes Nick fighter is definitely hot! I dunno after my friend told me his story I had the idea brewing in my head and I kept imaging each of the BSB as a fighter...then I saw that picture where Nick's brushing his teeth shirtless and I was like. OH YEAH we got a winner. lol.

Yes. It is pretty crazy. Although I think all sports have those bookies that try and get athletes to throw their games. My friend has a scar from one end of his head to the other where they bashed his head in for not going along.

Hey you guys. I have a question for you.
When I wrote this story I told myself that I was going to focus more on Nick than Max. So for those that read this story do you think I did that?

I actually thought it was pretty even. You had a good chunk with Max but you also had a fair amount with Nick too. I loved the way it was broken down between the characters. :)

Erika, this is a general question about your writing. I know you do mostly AU's what is it about that genre that you feel most comfortable writing?
Have you ever written one of the boys completely out of character?
Since we know Kevin is your favorite, what made you choose Nick for Fight Me?

Oh my Kevin as a UFC fighter.... okay I'm picturing him all sweaty and hot like he just fought. mmmmm now my thoughts are on Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in the first movie. Okay I am WAAAAAY off topic here. sorry. lol
did you always know you were going to kill the poor little doggie???
Are you ever influenced by random comments made by the readers in their reviews. Like for instance if someone mentioned that it would seem natural for the bad guys to want to kill the dog and you hadn't thought of that would you then use it?

I write mostly AU's because I find it so much easier for me and fun to make the guys something other than a BSB. I've only written about two stories with the whole tour timeline and it was exhausting because I'm not really into them as much as I was back in the day so having to keep up with tour dates, albums and whatever happens on tour is too much work for me. Although I do use whatever might be happening in their lives at the time...when I read about it or see it on twitter. In other words I'm too lazy and I just can't go through the
whole researching. God I sound like an awful fan.
Hmmm I'm thinking AJ as jack in Sinister Devotion was a bit out of character, just because in my eyes AJ is a real love bug and he would never kill anyone. Of course he was still a softie in the end. But to take any of the guys completley out of character I don't think I've done that.
Oh lord Mare! Put me on the spot lol. I dunno...althou gh I love Kevin and he is my favorite, ever since he left us I was not inspired to write about him unless he was in the background. He's always in my stories... I just can't seem to write anything with him as the main character. I go through favorite BSB phases too! Plus the shirtless Nick pic did it for me lol.

No I didn't. The idea didnt come to me till Max left and had to leave Turbo behind with Nick. I thought Nick was so in love with her that Turbo was really important and if the bad guys really wanted to get to Nick, killing Turbo would really scare Nick and send him the message that Max was next. It was very sad to kill off Turbo!
Sometimes I can definitely be influenced by a review, unless I already have everything planned out in my head. I even asked for suggestions in older stories before.

I might have killed Nick. How heartwrenching that would be that he'd finally turned himself around, stood up to the bad guys, found love and then died to protect that love. I would have hated if you'd done it but I think killing him off would have made it that much better.

I did have that in mind at first, but as the story progressed I just couldn't bring myself to kill him. When he gets shot towards the end...I waited a bit because I still thought about it. lol. Seems to be I can only kill off Kevin in my stories...lol. That's how much I love him.

Sorry Mare...told myself I'd come back to this one and totally forgot. Hmmm...what insipres me? I would say watching TV shows, movies, lisetening to music really inspires me. A song will definitely bring on an idea for a scene. Sometimes something someone tells me or something I see. Truthfully anything will inspire me. Heck, I used to get really inspired when mom used to make me clean the bathroom. lol. :crazy:
