Who else gets a rush of adrenaline as they're writing really intense scenes?
I'm working on my August challenge story, and I was all "in the zone," and I got to a stopping point and... you know, stopped... and I realized that I'm all kind of shaky inside, and my heart's kind of racing, and I've got that adrenaline rush feeling, like when you're really nervous or excited about something. I totally get that way whenever I write a part that is really intense - really angsty or exciting or action-packed, whatever. I get so into it, and then I stop, and it's like whoa LOL. I bet I'm funny to watch when I'm actually writing like that LOL.
Does anyone else get like that when they're writing certain parts? I just think it's funny how involved we get when we're writing our own stories... and reading other people's too, really, cause I get the same way when I'm reading intense parts LOL.

I get such a rush/high when I'm motivated and had been writing constantly. Like that surge of inspiration that won't quit? It's like a drug lol.
-
Yes I get that rush when i'm writing an action scene or a scene i've been really excited to write and have been waiting and waiting for the chance to finally get to it in the story. I love when that happens!
-
Me too!
I just posted the story I was working on. I only got through a third of my idea out, but I did meet the challenge requirements. Yay for sequels?

I get that rush when I finish a scene that's been giving me trouble. Like the other day I was stuck on this one part that was maybe a page, but when it finally clicked into place I breezed through the rest of the chapter because I was totally on an adrenaline high.
Writing really is an addictive drug. Gotta love it!
That's an awesome feeling, and also an awesome writing topic Julie! I'm glad to see one of those. It's been a while.

I love that feeling! It really is addictive. I wish I could write something decent every day because I find that I am always in a better mood when I wake up the morning after being productive with my writing. Even on a workday, it gives me something to smile about as I get ready for work, and gives me something to look forward to continuing or at least reading over when I get home. The problem is, by the time I get home, I am usually too exhausted to write anything else, so then the streak is broken. And that's why I don't write something every day during the school year LOL. If I write something every weekend, that's doing well.
But yeah, I absolutely love the feeling of being really "into" a story, whether it's one I'm writing or one I'm reading.

^ same here!
-
I get really excited about writing it and then it sort of... dies when I get there? lol
-
LMAO that happens to me sometimes. I hate that!
-
Me too, because then you're like, why couldn't I have just written it when I orginally wanted!?! lmao
-
I know... or "why doesn't this part sound as good as it did in my head?" LOL That's the worst.
-
^ I hate when that happens lol
-
How about "I can't remember what I wanted to write even though I could see it so clearly in my head!"? lmao
-
That too... kinda goes along with not sounding as good as it did in your head.
-
I'm glad we all get the same feelings. lmao
-
For me I had always gotten giddy when I wrote something good. But since I started Pixcadia there are moments when I do get a rush because the scene has come together nicely.
-
How about "I can't remember what I wanted to write even though I could see it so clearly in my head!"? lmao
I like to call that Hawk and a Handsaw...
-
^*squishy hugs Julilly, then hands her a baby to beat up* lol

I know this thread has been dead for over a month, but I totally had an adrenaline moment last night LOL. I was writing a REALLY huge arguement between two characters of mine that had been brewing for quite a while. I was very pleased with how it came out. So much so that I stayed up to almost 1am finishing it and then I was way too heated and emotional to get to bed. Ha, I feel like SUCH a dork!

Don't feel dorky! I get the same way...usually it is when I finish up a chapter and right after I post it, especially when something came out totally different than I thought it would, but in a good way (which has happened a lot with Casual).
I also get a little adrenaline rush when I get my first feedback notification for a chapter, makes me excited!!!
