Hey there!!
I have been really excited about this challenge for a long time and I couldn't wait for April to get here because not only is this a challenge but it's also a game! YAY!!!
It's a little complex so I hope some of you will take the time to do it, because I think it'll say a lot about your writing and may even increase your readership when it's all said and done.
Here's the challenge...
I'm calling it Mare's multiple personality disorder challenge.
Here's what you have to do
You must create a brand new account on AC for this one. <--yes that's the annoying part but the way it has to be for this challenge to work.
See, the object of this challenge is going to be different for everyone but the main goal is the same, you need to write a story that you would'nt otherwise write.
~ Create a new pen name for this challenge and a new persona
~ Write a short story under this new pen name as out of your character as you possibly can
~ Try your best to mimic someone else's writing style
~ The story doesn't have to be about BSB
~ make sure you say in the summary that it's for the April challenge so we know it's one of us lol because unlike the stories past, you can't link them into this thread otherwise we'll know it's you.
~ I will compile the list of stories in one thread and then the fun of it will be trying to guess who wrote what. So after you are done with your story, instead of posting the link in here, PM it to me. Yes i'll know who is who but somone has to. lol
~ Try to keep your stories relatively short because i know for me when I look at the word count and see more than 2,000 words for a challenge, I move on lol

Sounds interesting although I already pulled my April Fool's joke on my readers by posting an alternate chapter of my story that was completely out of character for my characters and maybe perhaps a lil mocking. It was interesting to write and I did think it was a good excercise to take my characters to that extreme. I had a blast writing it because it was so ridiculous!

ok, so I suck and didn't finish last months challenge. I got half done, but never finished. SO, maybe I should do this one to make up for it. I've been sitting here forever thinking about it and it's hard because we have absolutely no direction this time. Just come up with anything you don't normally write... So we're changing writing styles? Or genre or boy or all of it?

hmmm, interesting. I already have some ideas for this but I will have to think a while to choose one and develop it. I have only written AU once a long time ago and I haven't ever written about limb loss, lol. :-\ Slash isn't something I write either but I highly doubt I could pull that one off. I guess time will tell.
I am excited to see what every one comes up with for this!!

Don't worry, Kelly. I didn't finish last months challenge either. I got about 3/4 done and then got stuck. And I had a good story going too. LOL.
This one should be interesting though. I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with.

I thought of doing that once... years ago... not even on AC; just writing a new story under a different name to see what kind of feedback I would get from people who didn't know me as a friend, or "Julie who wrote this one story" or whatever. But I never actually did that... just seemed like it would get too confusing LOL.

I have to agree on the pen names thing, gals! I was quite ammused by the Nick's babies thing, too! I have also been reading all of the stories, and most of them are so well written I wouldn't think it was out of thier normal style of writting! ;D YAY for everyone who has done the challenge!

Jeez! At this rate, it'll take an hour to catch up! Well, maybe a half hour - lol.
I didn't expect so many. Lol. I'm not even guessing who is who - though, whoever wrote that fic about the squirrel & didn't separate each sentence from one another, so it was all clumped together is now on my "I am momentarily annoyed with you" list! Gah! That's one of my pet peeves! Lol.
And my fic [not saying which - hehe] - I'd like to think it was out of the usual for me, but these days, I've no idea anymore - lol.

last year, for Joslin's first birthday, I made her cake. It came out really cute, too! I frosted the large cake pink...then took two little cakes and put them on top of the big one, frosting those red. I took black and make the two little cakes into lady bugs and wrote 'Our Little Lady is One' on the big cake!
I like baking them, decorating them, and eating them...working them off is a whole nother story! LMAO

Baking is a science. lol, at least that's what they said in my classes. Seriously though, it is pretty much a science...you are supposed to wiegh dry ingredients, not use measuring cups and if you are a tiny bit off on something it can lead to big disasters! I would know, LMAO

So am I. I don't think I've EVER seen so many people respond to a challenge before, especially as soon as they have. It's only the 5th day of the month, and already we have like 7 or 8 entries. I am impressed.

I haven't read any of them yet (I've been visiting with my momma!), but she's gone this weekend (doesn't come back until Wed night), and I have lots of babysitting to do, so I plan on reading them during all that babysitting time. We'll see if I can come up with one to write though...that's a whole other issue there.

It's been interesting reading everyone's challenge response! there are so many different types and they are all pretty well written! I don't think that a non-forum member would even realize that they weren't the author's normal style of writting. So I guess, that means everyone is doing a good job! YAY to the challenge responders! ;D

I just caught up on reading all the challenges. Normally I don't get into the challenge thing and don't even read many of them, but this month has been really fun! It's gonna be hard to guess who wrote what, but I think they've all been really great stories, actually!! Even the ones that are normally not the kidn of stuff I read, I enjoyed... LOL probably because they were written by people who don't normally write that stuff either.

That's my take on it, too. I read all of them just for that reason. Seeing as we are all writting out of our box I figured we should probably read out of our box, too. :)

the only thing I have come up with is that the overall general term is Paraphilia which includes all "recurrent intense sexually arousing fantasies, sexual urges, or behaviors" that have been present for more than 6 months.
then, the dessert thing would fall under the sub catagory of fetishism which referrs to sexual arousal brought on by inanimate objects.
*shruggs* I kept runnning into the same fetishes over and over...evident ly food related fetishes are not as common as other kinds.Oh and it is also more common in men then women by 20 to 1!!!! lol.
