Because I am missing Kevin a lot and also because I know Lenni loves The Importance of Fly Fishing I decided to go with three of my favorite Kevin and NIck pictures.
It's a simple challenge really. Create a story about one of these pictures and how it came to be. If you are very clever you can try to get all three in one story or write three separate stories if you'd like.
~ It should be no longer than 2,000 words
~ It can be told in real time or used as a flashback
~ you can include who took the picture
See? Much easier than other challenges. lol

aww. Poor Mare. We've used that last one before, but I like it so I'm using that one for my story. I already started! I should have it posted tonight if I get to sit down after the kiddies are asleep. And I promise nothing too deranged! ;) I totally understand you about the whole Nick and Kevin thing. Getting to watch them together all night was seriously one of the most fascinating things. It's hard to describe the relationship they have, but it's soooooo adorable!

Oh my heaven! I've still got The Outsiders on the brain and once I saw pic #1 I went "Holy crap, it's Ponyboy and Darry!"

*squeals* I LOVE this challenge!!!! I love Kevin/Nick fics!!!!!!!! If I get an idea at all, I am SO doing this challenge!!!! I got a teeny idea, but there's not enough idea to it to put it down on paper - lol. I'll try & daydream one up while at work on Saturday - haha!!! Unless I'm on cash, then there's no time to think! dude, I wrote a whole fic last night for this challenge and when I finished I realized it sucked monkey butts! I HATE it when that happens. It was funny while I was writing it, but when I read it, it just didn't work and I couldn't bring myself to post it. LAME. I actually deleted it. Now I have to start all over. Good thing I have a whole month still. I think I have a new Idea and I might use the piano picture for it. This idea isn't so much funny as sweet, so I'll have to wait till I'm feeling really nostalgic.
grr.... I hate when I write crap.

okay, so correct me if I am wrong...but I read it and loved it and I don't recall you mentioning who took the picture. lol. I would make the assumption that it was a fan, since it was at a concert, but you did make a rule that it had to be mentioned in the story. :-\
Just an observation. I really enjoyed the story tho!

I revised the rule about including the person who took the picture to you may include the person who took the picture. I didn't even realize I had that in there originally lol
I would go back and change the story but I feel like it would kill the integrity of what I wrote. I'm going to try to include it in the other two though. I think it might be easier to do that in those.
I guess that's the beauty of creating the challenge and having no one respond to it yet. If people had I wouldn't have revised it, but since I am the first pretty much I went ahead and changed it.

Being a Mod sounds rather convenient - lol. :D But glad you changed that rule, 'cause if I ever do get struck by an idea for this challenge, I'd have prolly forgotten & broken that one-lol.

I finally got to read the challenges and all I can say is awwwwwwwwwwwww www!
It was a little hard to find them all in all these pages, hehe last month Mare made it so easy to find them all, I think I'm spoiled now. Anyway, fabulous job ladies! I need to go write mine! Maybe I'll do that since I can't sleep at the moment and I've had a really awful day and need some good cheering up. Kevin and Nick cheer me up because they are just so special (and I don't mean in an olympics kind of way) So thanks ladies! You all put a much needed smile on my face.

I admit, when I wrote about slicing open Kevin's skin, I pictured dissecting the cat in my high school anatomy class. It was an interesting experience, and, well, it totally helped me write the story lol
I rather enjoyed that foray into bloodiness lol Must do it again :P

but my murder is relevant to the plot! I had to kill! And I didn't kill NIck! (though I easily could have.)
plus my challenge story was the heartfelt, make you want to cry, warm fuzzy feelings type so I get points to balance out the killing... right?

I dissected a cat in high school too. That was some inner turmoil right there... my love of cats vs. my love of slicing and dicing and seeing body parts.

Cats...pigs... squid...what else did I dissect? I even got to go see a human cadaver (or however you spell it). I have to imagine the experience helps out with the writing.

Eeewww, yeah, I had to do the pig disection in biology back in like 10th grade. My friend and I were lab partners for that and she was so squeemish over the whole thing that she made me do the initial incision and the cutting through the ribs. *cringes at the memory of the sound and feeling of rib cutting *gag** R.I.P LuLu the pig... LoL

the cats are practically dead when these companies that distribute animal specimen for academic use sweep them off the streets anyway. my cat was almost 5 feet long, had the mangiest fur, and was the skinniest thing ever. it didn't much look like a house cat or someone's pet, so i didn't mind so much.
i've done rats, cow hearts, sheep's brain, the cat, these giant, black southern grasshoppers that were two feet long, etc. Of all of them, the grasshoppers freaked me out the most lol

I did the fetal pig too... and I have to say, as disturbed as I was by the cat (disturbed but also fascinated... LOL I'm not gonna lie; I love cats, but I thought it was cool too), I actually found the pig worse. I think it was because the cat was this big, ugly, shaved thing, but the fetal pig was this cute little piglet. Like Wilbur! LOL We had to chop off its legs and its snout and stuff cause we were just supposed to be dissecting down to the brain stem and spinal cord, and it seemed so wrong! :( Poor little piglet.

I've done the cat, fetal pig, sheep brain, cow eye, starfish, and frog. Oh, and a pickle LOL. We did the pickle in 8th grade for practice before we did the starfish and the frog. The frog was the coolest!

Yeah, it was sick! Our goal was to dissect down to the brain stem and spinal cord and remove those without severing the cord (which my partner and I actually suceeded at - go us!), so it was basically "hack and chop everything else up until you get to the middle, and then be really, really careful." And that's really the only thing I remember about doing it - that we sliced off its little legs and its snout. :(

LOL so I keep on hijacking... but when we dissected the cats during my senior year, I had this little tube of lotion in my purse; I think it was Jergens or some brand like that... and every day after we finished dissecting, I would wash my hands and then put on that lotion cause they'd be all dry. And after awhile, I started to associate the smell of that lotion with the smell of formaldehyde/dead cats. I didn't use it all that often cause it was just in my purse, so I carried it around for months after that, and seriously, every time I put it on, I thought of dead cats. I finally had to throw it away just because it grossed me out. I don't think I've bought Jergens lotion since LOL.

Would it be sick and wrong to say I loved every second of dissecting animals? lol I loved dissecting the cat, that was so cool. I had my anatomy class right after lunch too lmao. The frog was cool too, so were the owl pellets, the piglet, the pig's heart... I almost went into medicine.
But I like dissecting the human psychosis better lol
Oh for those who dissected the cats, did your teachers have a preggy one he did along with the class too? That was the one sad thing, when he pulled out dead unborn kittens only like 2 weeks away from being born.

My teacher had the preggy cat. It was horrible! I almost went into medicine, too, so I kind of found it fun-but compeltely gross at the same time. Now freakin way could I have done a grasshopper. I freak out when I see a little one in my house.
And all the girls in my class would pull out their scented lotions and stuff trying to get rid of that formaldahyde smell on our hands (even the guys took some the first few days lmao) but instead of covering the smell, it just made it worse...like dead cat, formaldahyde and apples. Yum. *gags*

Yes a major smiting will occur and didn't we already cover this in April's thread? How annoying it is to have to go through pages of posts that have nothing to do with the stories that are supposed to be posted by people who don't plan on posting a story to begin with? lol I love you all but it's annoying!

Okay, I was bored whilst babysitting (I can only watch so much Spongebob before I want to gauge my eyes out), and I didn't want to get smited...so I participated. Plus, I didn't participate last month. I wrote for all three pictures, so it's a series. :)

yeah, I saw them and was like AH! cuz one is like way old. the other is messed up because Nick is serious and Kevin is being goofy...it's like the world was out of wack that day!

He looks so young. I was cracking up when I saw the at the 02 and they did uit playin games because they played the video and Nick just looked so young!! and scrawney!
