Is it possible to respond to reviews for collaborations if you're not the author who posted the story originally?
This has been bugging me...
I'm part of the "00Carter" collaboration, which Rose first put up on AC under her name and then added the other writers, including me, as co-authors. The story comes up with my other stories, and I can edit it and add chapters, etc.
The thing I can't do is respond to reviews. The option just isn't there for me for that story. I think the only one who can is Rose because she was the original author.
Anyone know if there's a way around that? Besides just messaging the reviewer privately or leaving a review myself in response?

Sadly I don't think you can. It's a flaw in the script. I tried to fix it myself a few times and never got anywhere, and the person who wrote the main script has never gotten back to me with any resolutions for it, either. Hopefully with the next script upgrade that'll work again...

Yeah you're right, it's only the person who is the initial author.

Yup only the author. I just felt the need to come in and say that since I was the only mod who didn't respond lol

LOL okay, thanks for checking into it! That sucks, but if it's a problem with the script, I know there's not much you can do about it.

Do you know if there's a way to switch who the initial poster is though? Without reposting the entire story and deleting our reviews and everything?

how Sarah and I do it, is we each post our own parts. If you're all listed on the collab, which ever author posts the update, is the one who can respond to the reviews. I think... Because I know both Sarah and I have responded to reviews on Shadows before. I think that's what's happening. Maybe...

I wonder if something is wrong with our story... because I can't reply even to the parts I posted, and Rose can't reply now either, and she's the initial author. So basically, it's looking like none of us can.

Making another username for all of us would be fine with me, but only if we can do it and have it work without having to repost our story. I don't wanna have to do that. :(

Editing the chapters worked to make me able to reply but that's it.
And we can do it without reposting. What we have to do is is add 00Carter on, and Julilly can change it. Cause she did that for one of my old collabs and took the old shared penname off.

Oh, that would be great! Maybe we should do that then. That way, it's still credited to all our individual names, but we could also log in to the 00Carter name to reply to reviews.

Julilly, once we make the 00Carter account, can you make that name the main author for us?

Okay, we made an account - we're "Himitsu Takana". I already added it as an author to the story, but if one of the mods could make it the main/initial author, that would be wonderful! Thanks!

Looks like it... I can't tell for sure cause all our reviews are replied to, so I don't think it would let me anyway. The next time we get a review, I can try and let you know. Thanks for changing it!
