In the past, I never really posted who was going to be featured because I thought it would be a nice surprise for the author. Since participation has waned over the years when it comes to the discussion part of the fics, I have decided to let everyone know who will be featured and when. That's where this waiting line comes in.
If you see your name on this list and do not want to be featured you need to PM me to let me know, although if you don't want to be featured that's just weird, but i'll take your name off lol
This also lets you know when your time is coming and maybe will spark some of you to work on these stories before your turn comes! :)
In January, i'm changing the format to name just the author and that person can pick which story they want to have featured. Again, if I don't hear from that person at least a week before their turn, I'll pick the story instead.

This is a great idea Mare, especially with starting to let the authors pick which story of theirs they want to feature. And LMAO at deeming those who don't want to be featured "weird".

Back at ya! :) I also like the idea of letting the author choose the story. I wouldn't have chosen anything different than what's already been featured or on the list for me, but for people who have a lot of stories in the works at the same time, that makes sense. What you feel is your best story may not be the most popular.

Am I that slow....or do I never take the time to read things. I just found out I will be the featured story for March. I'm excited. Now I have to think of which story I want to feature. Hmmm....I guess I have some time to think.

Aww I know... no, I haven't forgotten GR; honestly, I think I need to tackle one at a time and finish CC first, then go back to GR when I can actually commit to it and stay in the story. I've found it's not the kind of story I can just write whenever I feel like it, 'cause it takes too much effort to get inspired for. I need to write on it consistently for it to work. So I will plan on having CC at least close to being done by April. If I stay on a roll with it, I might even be able to finish it by then, which would be perfect, cause I don't really have anything else to feature LOL.

Eek. I hate all my stories pre-Broken, and since BMS has already been featured, there's no point in doing Broken. I'm pretty much limited to either Curtain Call or 00Carter LOL.

00 Carter is a no go because it's a collab.
It would be fun to feature one of your really old stories. Or one of the MST's you did! lmao I used to love those things!
CC it is lol I have a feeling you'll be done with it by then. It seems you are updating that one regularly.

I send you a pm a month before you are featured and that's when you tell me what you want featured. If you want people to decide you sould post a poll in your update thread.

Look at the list in the featured story thread (it's a long one) and feel free to use someone who hasn't had a turn within the last year or so or someone you don't see on that list at all who you think deserves a month. It can even be you if you are so inclined to think that way lol

I don't think Carterkid has had a turn, unless I missed it in the list. She's one of the only regulars who participates on the forum who hasn't.
Kentuckychickr k hasn't been featured since August 2009. I bet we could get her back on the forum to discuss if she was given a second month.
After that, it looks like most people who we could expect to participate have been featured either this year or last year. I'm impressed!

Wow you have part of next year done already. Everyone I'd like to nominate has been featured already, or has had a turn recently.
I'm kinda happy it isn't time for me to get one again, I don't think I have anything other than FYO feature worthy.

It's that time again! Time to take some more recs for featured story/author! So if you have any suggestions for authors who have not been featured in at least two years, post them here. I do like to feature people who also post on the forum but it doesn't have to be the case.

Maybe Jenna? She was featured for Inner Hell back in 2008, but hasn't been featured since then. She has a lot of classics we could discuss, or she just started a new story not long ago.
I think all my other AC faves have been featured in the last two years.

Bumping up because it's about that time again where I need some suggestions for featured authors and stories.

The only qualifications are that they have to have stories on the site and at least one of them needs to be far enough along to merit a discussion. Many people have had multiple turns so we're trying to shy away from that happening but if there are really no suggestions I might go that way. They do not have to be part of the forum however, it seems like the people that post on here tend to care more about this than the people who don't.
So that being said, suggest away! :)
