This challenge will be our fall one!
The Whatever Happened to... challenge.
How many times have people asked or even begged you to write a sequel to a story because they loved your characters so much they didn't want to let them go? How many times have YOU decided to write a sequel because you loved your characters so much you couldn't let them go? Okay now how many times have you regretted it? LOL
This challenge will give you and your reader's a great opportunity to catch up and say goodbye to some of your most loved characters without having to commit to writing a full blown sequel.
Your goal!
Pick one of your stories and write a one shot telling us what became of the characters. It should be set at least five years after the original story ended and serve as a wrap up. Think of the epilogue to "Harry Potter" or the VH1 show "Where Are They Now?"
Remember we don't want an entire sequel just an update.
It can be anywhere from 1 to 3 chapters long. NO LONGER!! We don't want a real sequel!
No word count limit
No banners!!
Make sure you let us know which story this is the wrap up to.
You can write more than one as long as it's not for the same story.
When you are done, post the link in this thread!
You have until Thanksgiving (USA) for this challenge! :)

Love this challenge, though it is a tough cookie, since I have only written one long story and that was a collaboration.

Good idea, even though I've never been tempted to write a sequel to any of my stories, I may have a look.

I don't know any characters that people would want to see more from 5 years later. LOL ... but I love the idea for this challenge and will be thinking of what to do with this one.

I would suggest you guys maybe opening polls in your update threads so people can vote and you can keep a more accurate count that way. Not saying you have to or not to use twitter lol just in addition too...just to clarify.

I dont think I can participate in this challenge, unless people wanna know what happened to Nick five years after the ending which is not written yet. lol this is a good challenge though. :)

I'm with you! Once I finish the little story arc I'm working on, I feel like everyone might be "Nick and Annie"ed to death. haha

What if we started a sequal, but never finished? Would that work? Unortunately I don't think I will ever go back to it anyway. lol.

:( I really wish there was some way I could participate in this, but unless I actually end up finishing one of the stories I have going right now before the end of the month, I don't see that I will be able to, unless I get REALLY creative. Hmm... things to ponder.

So 5-6 years later, I see this challenge (maybe again, I don't remember) and finally figured out which story to write a Whatever Happened To for - my "What Makes You Different" story. It takes place in Spring 2018, just before the Boys release Don't Go Breaking My Heart. I'm just not sure what to call it.
It's also begging to be expanded into a much longer story than the 1-3 chapters, so I'll just post this shorter piece now, and work on expanding it later, posting again maybe under a different title.
