Title: A Backstreet Boys story
Post by: mare on July 12, 2014, 07:38:57 AM
I thought this would be fun. Fill in the blanks to complete your Backstreet Story. I at first wanted to make this a challenge and have you fill out how other people might answer, but I wasn't sure who would do it and who wouldn't. LOL

PUt your answers inside  the [ ] and make sure you bold them to make it easier to read.

I first started liking the Backstreet Boys during the [CD name] era. At that time [BSB member] was my favorite Backstreet Boy because [reason]. My favorite song used to be [name your very first favorite BSB song] but now I love [name your current favorite BSB song]. Since becoming a fan, I have seen the guys on tour [number] times. My favorite tour was [name the tour] because [reason]. The one song I wish they would perform in concert is [a song usually left off the set list] and take out [a song you think they should omit].

Nowadays, my favorite Backstreet Boy is [your current favorite] because [reason]. I have to admit, at first I didn't think much of [name of a BSB] but now he's really grown on me. I still don't give [name of a BSB] much thought because I just don't have all that much interest in him or anything in common with him. If [name of a BSB] were to leave the band, there is no way it could continue on as a foursome, but If I had to pick one of them to leave, I would choose [name of a BSB] because [reason].

The one thing I love most about these boys is [reason you're a fan]. But if I could ask them to change one thing it would be [what's something you wish they would do differently].

At the end of the day, we're all fans but the one thing that bugs me most about this fandom in general is [pet peeve here]. I think [name of BSB] is the most fan friendly where [Name of BSB] needs the most work. Regardless, I love these guys and will remain a fan forever unless [give us something they might do to have you stop being a fan].

Fun!!

I first started liking the Backstreet Boys during the Backstreet's Back era. At that time Nick was my favorite Backstreet Boy because he was blonde. My favorite song used to be That's The Way I Like It but now I love Unsuspecting Sunday Afternoon and Climbing The Walls. Since becoming a fan, I have seen the guys on tour 15 times. My favorite tour was In a World Like This because Nick sang directly to me. The one song I wish they would perform in concert is Get Another Boyfriend and take out I'll Never Break Your Heart.

Nowadays, my favorite Backstreet Boy is Nick because he's still blonde lol. I have to admit, at first I didn't think much of Howie but now he's really grown on me. I still don't give AJ much thought because I just don't have all that much interest in him or anything in common with him. If Nick were to leave the band, there is no way it could continue on as a foursome, but If I had to pick one of them to leave, I would choose Kevin because he was already gone and I'm used to it that way.

The one thing I love most about these boys is their music and their love for each other. But if I could ask them to change one thing it would be how expensive their fan events are for the value that you get.

At the end of the day, we're all fans but the one thing that bugs me most about this fandom in general is when people take everything the boys do so seriously. I think Nick is the most fan friendly where Brian needs the most work. Regardless, I love these guys and will remain a fan forever unless Nick left the group.

I first started liking the Backstreet Boys during the US Backstreet Boys era. At that time Brian was my favorite Backstreet Boy because he was the cute, funny one - totally my type. My favorite song used to be As Long as You Love Me but now I love Don't Wanna Lose You Now. Since becoming a fan, I have seen the guys on tour 17 times. My favorite tour was In a World Like This because KEVIN!!!  Also good seats, good friends, VIP, old-school dancing, and amazing new songs! The one song I wish they would perform in concert is One Phone Call and take out I'll Never Break Your Heart.

Nowadays, my favorite Backstreet Boy is still Brian because he's still cute and funny, and I admire his strength of character. I have to admit, at first I didn't think much of Nick but now he's really grown on me. I still don't give [name of a BSB] much thought because I just don't have all that much interest in him or anything in common with himI used to not care much about Howie or Kevin, but I love them both now!  If Brian or Nick were to leave the band, there is no way it could continue on as a foursome, but if I had to pick one of them to leave, I would choose no one because losing Kevin was hard enough, and now that he's back, I can't imagine anyone ever leaving again(But if I really HAD to pick, I guess I'd pick Howie because the songs would be affected the least, and I'm too grateful for Kevin to pick him.)

The one thing I love most about these boys is their personalities and how they mesh together. But if I could ask them to change one thing it would be not to indulge obnoxious fans with special attention (tweets, shoes, etc.).

At the end of the day, we're all fans but the one thing that bugs me most about this fandom in general is all the complaining - despite how hard the Boys work to please their fans, some fans are never happy!. I think Nick is the most fan friendly where Brian needs the most work. Regardless, I love these guys and will remain a fan forever unless the world ends, in which case I will hopefully continue being a fan in the afterlife.

I was really hoping I'd see more of these filled out! I saw a bunch of people in this thread earlier!

I first started liking the Backstreet Boys during the [Black and Blue just before their hiatus] era. At that time [Kevin] was my favorite Backstreet Boy because [He just had this 'I want to protect you and keep you safe' vibe. And the green eyes didn't hurt either.]. My favorite song used to be [I Want it That Way] but now I love [I Want it That Way, still]. Since becoming a fan, I have seen the guys on tour [5] times. My favorite tour was [Never Gone] because [I went to two concerts and had excellent seats at both and went with friends. We had a great time]. The one song I wish they would perform in concert is [Bigger] and take out [I'll Never Break Your Heart].

Nowadays, my favorite Backstreet Boy is [Kevin and Nick] because [I love their personalities]. I have to admit, at first I didn't think much of [Howie] but now he's really grown on me. I still don't give [AJ] much thought because I just don't have all that much interest in him or anything in common with him. If [Nick] were to leave the band, there is no way it could continue on as a foursome, but If I had to pick one of them to leave, I would choose [Brian] because [I find him annoying lol].

The one thing I love most about these boys is [Their brotherly interactions with each other and of course their blended harmonies]. But if I could ask them to change one thing it would be [Stop favoring the fans who can afford things versus the ones who can't. Love us all the same or don't love any of us at all].

At the end of the day, we're all fans but the one thing that bugs me most about this fandom in general is [the sense of entitlement some have]. I think [Nick] is the most fan friendly where [Brian] needs the most work. Regardless, I love these guys and will remain a fan forever unless [They continue to do things that annoy me like work with the New Kids].

It's funny the things we all agree on.  I'll Never Break Your Heart has "gotta go!"

I noticed that too! I hate that song. It prevented me from taking them seriously until I heard I Want it That Way and All I Have to Give. I was like "those are the same people that sang that sexy talking song?" LOL
Title: Re: A Backstreet Boys story
Post by: RokofAges75 on July 12, 2014, 07:44:39 PM
LOL It's just so mid-90s cheesy R&B!  It's a pretty song in terms of the harmonies and such, but it's SO boring, and there's just not a lot they can do to change it up in concert.  Plus, Brian's vocal issues just make it painful to listen to these days.  Pass!
Title: Re: A Backstreet Boys story
Post by: mare on July 12, 2014, 07:52:54 PM
Yeah, I've never much liked their R&B stuff. It really was the talking at the beginning that did it for me though. I call it my "sit down" song because whenever they do it in the concert is when I sit and relax for a few minutes. LOL
Title: Re: A Backstreet Boys story
Post by: RokofAges75 on July 12, 2014, 08:01:34 PM
LOL Yes, the talking is so cheesy!  Very Boys II Men LOL.  It's my "take pictures" song because it's one where they hold still enough to get some good group shots, and it's never one I record.

I first started liking the Backstreet Boys during the [Red Album] era. At that time [Brian] was my favourite Backstreet Boy because [I liked his voice and thought he was cute]. My favourite song used to be [Get Down] but now I love [Bigger]. Since becoming a fan, I have seen the guys on tour [12] times. My favourite tour was [Unbreakable] because [everything was much less scripted than it is now, there was a lot more fan interaction and there was a BAND, not canned music]. The one song I wish they would perform in concert is [anything from Unbreakable and This is Us] and take out [All I Have to Gi...Zzzz].

Nowadays, my favourite Backstreet Boy is [Nick] because [it's been easiest to get to know him better because he's very public and open, his face is a nice plus]. I have to admit, at first I didn't think much of [AJ] but now he's really grown on me. I still don't give [Kevin] much thought because I just don't have all that much interest in him or anything in common with him. If [Nick] were to leave the band, there is no way it could continue on as a foursome, but If I had to pick one of them to leave, I would choose [Kevin] because [I find him to be completely irrelevant to the dynamic of the group].

The one thing I love most about these boys is [the music and how accessible they make themselves to fans]. But if I could ask them to change one thing it would be [listening to our suggestions/recommendations more and actually taking them to heart, since they're asking us to fork over our hard earned money all the time].

At the end of the day, we're all fans but the one thing that bugs me most about this fandom in general is [the petty bickering]. I think [Howie] is the most fan friendly where [Brian] needs the most work. Regardless, I love these guys and will remain a fan forever unless [they run me over with a tour bus].

Put your answers inside  the [ ] and make sure you bold them to make it easier to read.

I first started liking the Backstreet Boys during the [Self titled album] era. At that time [nome of them ] was my favorite Backstreet Boy because [I didn't have a favorite until 1998/1999]. My favorite song used to be [Quit Playing Games] but now I love [As Long As You Love Me]. Since becoming a fan, I have seen the guys on tour [six] times. My favorite tour was [This is Us] because [it was the closest I've ever been to the stage]. The one song I wish they would perform in concert is [Siberia] and take out [More Than That].

Nowadays, my favorite Backstreet Boy is [Brian and Nick] because [I am struggling because I cannot choose between them]. I have to admit, at first I didn't think much of [Kevin] but now he's really grown on me. I still don't give [Howie] much thought because I just don't have all that much interest in him or anything in common with him. If [Nick] were to leave the band, there is no way it could continue on as a foursome, but If I had to pick one of them to leave, I would choose [none of them ] because [I don't feel any of them should leave].

The one thing I love most about these boys is [the love they have for the fans]. But if I could ask them to change one thing it would be [not focus on the stuff people can't afford as much because not all fans can and it makes them feel left out].

At the end of the day, we're all fans but the one thing that bugs me most about this fandom in general is [all the petty fighting]. I think [Kevin] is the most fan friendly where [Howie] needs the most work. Regardless I love these guys and will keep being a fan forever unless [nothing would stop me from being a fan].

Do you know anything about that?  Did that really happen at soundcheck, that Nick said Jesus was an alien?  Is there video?  Cause I need to see that if there is LOL.

I'm sorry if I'm getting this thread off topic, but in my search for soundcheck videos, I discovered that they sang my beloved One Phone Call AND Make Believe at the Darien Lake soundcheck.  I wish there were full videos, but I could only find these.

One Phone Call:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6PNAh1UpUFc (almost the whole song)

Make Believe:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BtnSZm_fQ7g (most of it)

The fans singing along annoyed me in OPC, but Make Believe is BEAUTIFUL!  Those harmonies... wow!!  I love that song on the album, but not every song is as good live... that one is!!  They should have put that in the show.
Title: Re: A Backstreet Boys story
Post by: mare on July 13, 2014, 03:07:28 AM
I will skip the one phone call but I'll watch the Make Believe one! I always thought that song would make a god a cappella one for them. I hear a great version of it in my head anyway. lol

Back to the surveys! Looks like everyone also agrees that if Nick were to leave the group it would implode. LOL
Title: Re: A Backstreet Boys story
Post by: RokofAges75 on July 13, 2014, 03:11:48 AM
I bet you will like Make Believe.  It's a lot better than One Phone Call live LOL.

Yeah, I'm not sure BSB would have survived if Nick or even Brian or AJ had left instead of Kevin, if only because of how many solos they each have in their songs, not to mention their popularity.  There was always a void with Kevin missing, but they covered it well.  I don't know that they would have been able to do that if it was Nick, Brian, or AJ.  It'd be like NSync without Timberlake.
Title: Re: A Backstreet Boys story
Post by: mare on July 13, 2014, 03:30:56 AM
I think just based on the sheer amount of fans alone that he has, too many people would lose interest, especially those that see him just as eye candy. I'm talking present and not past now anyway. Back then, I don't think they could have gone on if it were any of the three you mentioned either, now I'm not so sure about that. As much as it sucks to say, I think they would do fine without Brian. Not that he would ever go anywhere but they've been covering him for a while now anyway.

I have a feeling if it ever got to the point that one of them wanted to leave again, they'd all just decide to call it quits.
Title: Re: A Backstreet Boys story
Post by: RokofAges75 on July 13, 2014, 04:00:22 AM
Yeah, I know what you mean.  The other guys could sing Brian's solos better than he sings them sometimes these days, as much as it pains me to say it.  Although it does seem like whatever he's been doing has been helping with that, from the videos I've watched lately.  But I think you're right... I don't see them going back to a foursome at this point; I think it's all or nothing.  They all seem committed, though, and seem to be enjoying themselves.  I just hope they don't get burnt out.  As much as I would love to see them go back into the studio to start on the next album after this tour cycle, I think they could use a break!
Title: Re: A Backstreet Boys story

I'm hoping they'll take a nice sized break and maybe regroup again in the spring. Not too short or too long. Just long enough to feel refreshed and do their own things for a little bit. LOL

I first started liking the Backstreet Boys during the Backstreet US era. At that time Nick & Brian was my favorite Backstreet Boy because they are goofy. My favorite song used to be All I Have To Give but now I love Light On. Since becoming a fan, I have seen the guys on tour 4 times. My favorite tour was Never Gone because I got VIP cause there was extra for people who showed up early, and I got Brian to sign my hat :) . The one song I wish they would perform in concert is Back To Your Heart and take out I'll Never Break Your Heart.

Nowadays, my favorite Backstreet Boy is still Nick & Brian because they are still goofy as ever and it makes me smile when I am having a terrible day some days. I have to admit, at first I didn't think much of Kevin but now he's really grown on me. I still don't give Howie much thought because I just don't have all that much interest in him or anything in common with him. If Nick or Brian were to leave the band, there is no way it could continue on as a foursome, but If I had to pick one of them to leave, I would choose Howie because (this is going to sound mean lol) some times I just cannot simply stand the high notes his voice permits.

The one thing I love most about these boys is they love their fans very much. But if I could ask them to change one thing it would be make their tickets alittle  more affordable I haven't seen them in concert in almost 10yrs for this reason.

At the end of the day, we're all fans but the one thing that bugs me most about this fandom in general is all the fighting about their wives and how much they hate them for stupid reasons (drives me crazy!). I think Brian is the most fan friendly where Kevin needs the most work. Regardless, I love these guys and will remain a fan forever unless Nick or Brian quit..

I'm listening to Light On right now! :)  I wish we had more B-sides and unreleased songs from this latest album.  You're lucky you got to go to soundcheck on the Never Gone tour!  That's when it was still up to luck to win the soundcheck party, before you could pay for it.  I'm glad for the option to pay for it now because I am usually not that lucky, although I did win once for Unbreakable, so I can't complain.

Their ticket prices have been high lately!  This tour was crazy.  Unbreakable and This is Us were not that bad.  It's nice that they've had sort of a resurgence in popularity and feel they can change more for tickets, but I would prefer smaller crowds and cheaper seats.

^  I was just about to say, I loved the way they used to do the sound check and wish they'd go back to doing it that way. Maybe leave those outrageously priced GOLD and Diamond ones for people to pay for but leave the original VIPS for either first so and so amount of people there get one or lottery or something. They've gotten kind of money hungry and it's one of the reasons they annoy me more now than ever! :(

Oh and carterkid, I fixed your post. :)

I think the way they did it for Unbreakable was the best.  You could buy VIP, which got you an individual photo and an autograph - not only a pre-signed photo, but an actual in-person autograph on an object of your choice - but then there was also the contest, and if you won, you got a group photo and the pre-signed autographed photo, plus you could take a friend.  The VIP was expensive, but nothing compared to gold or platinum nowadays, and I don't think they do autographs in person anymore; it's all pre-signed.

I first started liking the Backstreet Boys during the Backstreet's Back era. At that time Kevin was my favorite Backstreet Boy because he was the mature, tall, dark haired and gorgeous one, lol. My favorite song used to be Everybody but now I love Incomplete and More Than That. Since becoming a fan, I have seen the guys on tour four times. My favorite tour was Unbreakable because I was front row, touched Nick's hand and had AJ's water thrown over me lol. The one song I wish they would perform in concert is Climbing The Walls and take out I'll Never Break Your Heart (as I'm not fussed on that song).

Nowadays, my favorite Backstreet Boy is Nick and Kevin because I'm glad Kevin came back and because Nick grew up and is hot (plus I love his voice and personality). I have to admit, at first I didn't think much of Howie but now he's really grown on me. I still don't give Brian much thought because I just don't have all that much interest in him or anything in common with him. If Nick were to leave the band, there is no way it could continue on as a foursome, but If I had to pick one of them to leave, I would choose Kevin because I already know they work well as a foursome without him, but I wouldn't want him to go again.

The one thing I love most about these boys is their genuine love for what they do. But if I could ask them to change one thing it would be come and tour in Wales, we are a country too!.

At the end of the day, we're all fans but the one thing that bugs me most about this fandom in general is the crazies. I think Howie is the most fan friendly where Nick (only because sometimes he's come across as uninterested on sound check videos I've seen) needs the most work. Regardless, I love these guys and will remain a fan forever unless they release crappy music and start treating the fans like crap too.

That sounds fair as well.

I think  if they did it by lottery/luck of the draw or hold some fun contests or something for just the plain old VIP, it would be best, so this way people who really want to go and can't afford these outrageous prices can be given a chance simply by showing up early or something. It's the sound check I am really interested in seeing anyway. I don't care if I do a meet and greet or anything like that. I mean, don't get me wrong, it would be lovely to do it, but I would happily settle for just listening to them talk and sing intimately especially if it was for free. Limit it to like only 50 people or something. Even though it's not a lot it gives at least 50 people a chance to have this experience who otherwise wouldn't be able to.

They can keep the GOLD and DIAMOND but then maybe lower those prices to what people used to pay for regular VIP and the next one up. By doing that, the experience would once again be more intimate because less people would be there and the people who have the money to pay for the experience wouldn't have to be rushed because there would be less people to have to get through.

I agree, just watching the soundcheck is the best part!  The meet and greet is so quick, it's hardly worth it unless it's your first time meeting them, but I like to do bronze just to see soundcheck.  I definitely wish they would lower the prices and limit the number they offer more than they do now.

Someone needs to tell them that. People who constantly @ the boys for every little thing need to include that in your @ing @can you follow me, @can you come to my country, @can you say hello I'm having a bad day. @lower your prices so we all can do fun things! @can you tell my dog you love him! LOL

I first started liking the Backstreet Boys during the [Backstreet Boys (Red Album)] era. At that time [Brian] was my favorite Backstreet Boy because [I loved his voice and the fact that he was gorgeous!]. My favorite song used to be [Hey Mr. DJ] but now I love [Something That I Already Know]. Since becoming a fan, I have seen the guys on tour [thirteen] times. My favorite tour was [Unbreakable] because [of the solos and the songs that they chose to play]. The one song I wish they would perform in concert is [Siberia] and take out [I'll Never Break Your Heart and/or All I Have To Give].

Nowadays, my favorite Backstreet Boy is [Brian] because [he's still gorgeous and he still has an amazing voice (most of the time)]. I have to admit, at first I didn't think much of [Kevin] but now he's really grown on me. I still don't give [Howie] much thought because I just don't have all that much interest in him or anything in common with him. If [Nick/Brian/AJ] were to leave the band, there is no way it could continue on as a foursome, but If I had to pick one of them to leave, I would choose [Howie] because [he is already so overlooked that I doubt that most people would realize that he was missing. Also, his high notes are sometimes a bit much for me.].

The one thing I love most about these boys is [their seemingly genuine love for what they do]. But if I could ask them to change one thing it would be [to make things like VIP more accessible to more of their fans. The prices for some of those packages are outrageous! I would love to do those special "extras" more often, but my friend and I just can't afford it].

At the end of the day, we're all fans but the one thing that bugs me most about this fandom in general is [the rudeness and petty jealousy that radiates out of some fans at shows and VIP experiences.]. I think [AJ] is the most fan friendly where [Howie] needs the most work. Regardless, I love these guys and will remain a fan forever unless [they stop making music].

I first started liking the Backstreet Boys during the [Red Album] era. At that time [Nick and Brian] were my favorite Backstreet Boys because [Brian was the best singer and funny, and Nick was cute and funny] . My favorite song used to be [I Wanna Be With You] but now I love [10,000 Promises] . Since becoming a fan, I have seen the guys on tour [seven] times. My favorite tour was [Never Gone] because [it was my very first BSB concert] . The one song I wish they would perform in concert is [It's Gotta Be You] and take out [I'll Never Break Your Heart] .

Nowadays, my favorite Backstreet Boys are [Nick and Kevin] because [Kevin is so amazing to the fans and has loosened up, and Nick is still quirky, funny, and hot LOL] . I have to admit, at first I didn't think much of [Howie] but now he's really grown on me. I still don't give [name of a BSB] much thought because I just don't have all that much interest in him or anything in common with him. Honestly I can barely rank the five of them the way I used to back in the day, I love all five Boys now. If [Any of Them] were to leave the band, there is no way it could continue on as a foursome, but If I had to pick one of them to leave, I would choose [none of them] because [while I enjoyed them as a foursome having Kevin back has made me realize I never want them to do that again].

The one thing I love most about these boys is [their relationship with each other and their harmonies] . But if I could ask them to change one thing it would be [how they give their most annoying and special fans extra attention] .

At the end of the day, we're all fans but the one thing that bugs me most about this fandom in general is [how so many fans overthink everything!] I think [Nick and Kevin] are the most fan friendly where [Brian] needs the most work. Regardless, I love these guys and will remain a fan forever unless [I die and hopefully it'll be like This Is The End and we'll all do the "Everybody" dance in the afterlife LOL.]

It's nice that they've had sort of a resurgence in popularity and feel they can change more for tickets, but I would prefer smaller crowds and cheaper seats.

we just got lucky really. My friend Amanda was talking to a guard and then he handed her wrist bands lol...and I didnt know where we were going and when i heard sound check I couldnt believe it!!! It was awesome...had decent seats too ;) Never will forget that night. Kevin was kind of grumpy that day though like he woke up on the wrong side of the bed lol. I was hoping to get everyone to sign my hat but Kevin kept bugging everyone to hurry up. I was lucky I was even able to get Brian to sign my hat lol. I still have it too sitting in my "backstreet box" ;)

I first started liking the Backstreet Boys during the  Backstreet boys CD.  At that time Howie was my favorite Backstreet Boy because I like his body. I'm surprised at how into it Kevin was!  I guess I just think of Kevin as the voice of reason, the mature one, the one who would say, "Wait up, you guys.  Isn't this song kind of... stupid?"  But then, Kevin also did this back in the day...

Aww, well, that's a good reason!  Brian was originally my favorite purely on a physical basis, before I knew anything about him, but I remember reading about all of them in their article in Teen People that came out in the summer of 1998, shortly after his heart surgery, and that's when I realized he was really something special.  That cemented his spot as my forever favorite.

I first started liking the Backstreet Boys during the Millennium era. At that time Howie was my favorite Backstreet Boy because my friends had 'taken' all the other Boys! My favorite song used to be That's What She Said but now I love Breathe. Since becoming a fan, I have seen the guys on tour ten times. My favorite tour was NKOTBSB because I was able to meet so many people! The one song I wish they would perform in concert is I Still and take out As Long As You Love Me.

Nowadays, my favorite Backstreet Boy is Nick because he's gorgeous, he's crazy, he's grown as a person, and I could listen to his voice every single second of the day. I have to admit, at first I didn't think much of Kevin but now he's really grown on me. I still don't give Howie much thought because I just don't have all that much interest in him or anything in common with him. If Nick were to leave the band, there is no way it could continue on as a foursome, but If I had to pick one of them to leave, I would choose Kevin because he's left before and BSB survived.

The one thing I love most about these boys is their music resonates with me and they love and respect their fans. But if I could ask them to change one thing it would be lower the cost of VIP!

At the end of the day, we're all fans but the one thing that bugs me most about this fandom in general is bullying. I think Brian is the most fan friendly where AJ needs the most work. Regardless, I love these guys and will remain a fan forever unless aliens abduct them and wipe every fans memories of their awesomeness.

I first started liking the Backstreet Boys during the time "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)" music video was everywhere era. ;) At that time Nick Carter was my favorite Backstreet Boy because who didn't love Nick Carter and his penis hairstyle back then?!. My favorite song used to be "Show Me The Meaning Of Being Lonely" but now I love the same song, along with "More Than That".. Since becoming a fan, I have seen the guys on tour ZERO times. My favorite tour was Black & Blue because although I've never gone, it looked cool as shit with dancers and explosions and whatnot; oh, and AJ's hot swag. The one song I wish they would perform in concert is "Song For The Unloved" and take out "Quit Playin' Games With My Heart" or "As Long As You Love Me".

Nowadays, my favorite Backstreet Boy is AJ McLean because his voice and sexiness... most times. :P. I have to admit, at first I didn't think much of Howie but now he's really grown on me. I still don't give Howie much thought because I just don't have all that much interest in him or anything in common with him. If Nick/AJ were to leave the band, there is no way it could continue on as a foursome, but If I had to pick one of them to leave, I would choose none because BSB will always be 5.

The one thing I love most about these boys is their music will always bring me back, especially to happier times (i.e., pleasant memories of my childhood); their resilience and persistence after all these years and all they've been through, not to mention their 20+ year bond is extremely admirable. But if I could ask tell them to change one thing it would be fuck Jive, release all your unreleased!.

At the end of the day, we're all fans but the one thing that bugs me most about this fandom in general is it's inconsistent for me personally; I'll be lost as a fan, found as a fan, lost again. I've strayed away from this fandom for years and was okay with it, and something has me crawling back to see what's been going on. Like I said, could be their music that will always bring me back. I think AJ McLean is the most fan friendly where (I honestly can't answer this because I've only ever met AJ and Brian) needs the most work. Regardless, I love these guys and will remain a fan forever unless I get lost again... I think it's all on me, and living the life of being a closet fan, lmao!!

Just to throw in some tidbits... I was actually REALLY scared of Kevin and AJ during the Millennium era, hahaha!! I was all about Nick, but Kevin and AJ scared me for some reason. Now, I'm into the bad boys (AJ)... funny how it turned out, lol. Another tidbit, the BSB and 90's nostalgia hit me so hard, I was blasting my Backstreet Boys station on Pandora, causing all my coworkers to love me for playing the station, and us workers and even our customers to jam along (totes was cheering these two older guys for jamming to "Larger Than Life" in the shop while they waited for us to serve them, lmao!)

Oh, and hi!  ;D Missed you all btw! :-* Although I've strayed from the fandom, my forged "cyber" friendships with people were never forgotten, lol. <3

I first started liking the Backstreet Boys when [they released their first single in Europe; "We've got it going on]. At that time [Kevin ] was my favorite Backstreet Boy because [he was the only one taller than me, lol. I thought he was gorgeous as well. ]. My favorite song used to be [INBYH] but now I love ["Lift me up" and "One phone call]. Since becoming a fan, I have seen the guys on tour [seven (I think)] times. My favorite tour was [IAWLT] because [Kevin came back]. The one song I wish they would perform in concert is ["Something that I already know" and "One phone call"/color]] and take out [INBYH (or they could do an oldies-medley,  I'd be fine with that)].

Nowadays, my favorite Backstreet Boy is [Kevin] because [I love the way his voice is soothing,  and I still think he's gorgeous, lol]. I have to admit, at first I didn't think much of [A.J.] but now he's really grown on me, since he became a father. I still don't give [Howie] much thought because I just don't have all that much interest in him or anything in common with him and I think his "winking-obsession back in the day turned me off for good . If [Nick] were to leave the band, there is no way it could continue on as a foursome, but If I had to pick one of them to leave, I would choose [Howie] because [his voice could probably be replaced by one of the others, though I prefer them as a party of five. ].

The one thing I love most about these boys is [their music and concerts]. But if I could ask them to change one thing it would be [to stop touching yourself like you're the sexiest thing we've ever seen (now which one am I talking about?  ;) ). Seriously, it makes me uncomfortable nowadays. Maybe I'm getting old. ].

At the end of the day, we're all fans but the one thing that bugs me most about this fandom in general is [the over-analyzing of everything they tweet/say/do]. I think [Howie/Nick (Nick seems to be much nicer to fans nowadays than a few years back)] is the most fan friendly where [Brian (and/or Leighanne)] needs the most work. Regardless, I love these guys and will remain a fan forever unless [it turns out their whole "brothers from different mothers"-story turns out to be a big lie].
