How do I view the unread topics since my last visit?

I always see people doing it and I'm confused....

At the top of your page you will see "Hello nicksgal" the next line down says "show unread posts since last visit." and "Show new replies to your posts."

Oh.... So it does.

I never noticed that before. :-[
