Nope, snow day here too! It's not doing anything out right now, but we got dumped on. If you haven't gotten anything yet, it's heading your way. Even the universities around here cancelled classes, and that hardly ever happens!

Three or four maybe [I've ended up having that happen & didn't even know I'd won until months after it'd ended-lol], but NOT 17!!!!!!!! Like I said, I was totally shocked I even won one. I guess people enjoy my Frick 'n' Frack are no more stories - lol. And instead of making her 17 freakin' awards, make my ONE first!!!!!!! It's easier that way! And drives me less bonkers! Lol.

Who is Tess anyway? What stories does she write? I know of a Tess, but I don't know if she writes fanfic, so not sure if it could be the same one...
In any case, no one should be winning 17 awards anywhere, no matter how good they are. That's just ridiculous. But then, it was the Mature Fan awards, right? Someone nominated a story of mine there once, and it won, except it was linked to my friend Bianca's site and listed under her name... so I'm not even really sure how it could have been judged, since they didn't have a correct link to the story LOL. Kinda backs up the theory that they might be rigged, right? I don't know anyone associated with those awards, so I don't think it was any friend of mine being biased, but maybe they just randomly assign winners?

It IS weird that Tess was nominated and won so many times, but I'm sure that could've happened in the Felix Awards, too. Say Mary Sue was a writer that everyone on Absolute Chaos was in love with, and she wrote a vast variety of stories that were super awesome. Maybe she was nominated for just about every single thing, and she was super great, so she won almost all of them...It's possible.
Not likely, but not completely out of the realm of possibilities either.

That's why voting isn't the best way to decide winners; it's usually just a popularity contest. But judging can be biased, if the judges are buddies with the authors of the stories they're judging. So, alas, no awards are perfect. But some sure try harder to be fair than others.

well they were the Mbsbfc awards and I think they might just be more familiar with their own authors. I was totally an outsider. I didn't even know what the MBSBFC was when I got nominated and the girl that nominated me knew me from here. So, it was probably just that most people had read her stories and not many of the other ones there. *shrug* whatever.

Another thing I noticed about some award sites that are like Uhmm how is this fair? Having an author nominated twice in the same category? Even if its different stories I don't think that's fair. But the best was I've seen the same character nominated twice in character categories because one story was the sequel and the other was the orginal. I mean come on people? How does that make sense? lol

I've been nominated at the Mature BSB fanfic... I think I won too but I can't find the award ... probably because the win is all in my head to make myself feel better.
I used to have an award part of CYDMR... a fanfic awards and an award you could win from the actual site. There were no rules for our site award, we gave it to whome we pleased. I liked that one. In fact I would give one to this forum.

OOH I went back and looked at my awards nothing newer then Amnesia has gotten anything (okay Wulf's Bane got one award)... my fave ones are the best unrecognized author awards. Shoot it's been long enough I could probably win those ones again.

Dude, the story was set in France, but only Lumiere and that featherdust chick had the French accents. Everyone else had pseudo-British, Scottish, and Irish accents. What a mess. But I still love the movie!
And Lenni, it's Cogsworth. Cogs are mechanisms in a system. The clock had lots of gears, so he was Cogsworth.

By the way, for my fellow BatB fans (it's my favorite!), did you know that liking that movie means we're more prone to stay in abusive relationships, because we'll always think that our man can change, just like the Beast did? My college roommate did a research project on views of women projected in Disney movies, and we watched a video she got from the library that said that. Apparantly I'm destined to be a battered wife the rest of my life, cause Beauty and the Beast rocks my world.
