I hate not being able to leave reviews on AC, but just wanted to tell you I read the first three chapters of If I Knew Then and am enjoying the story so far!  I like how you're weaving in real events, like the ALAYLM video shoot, and showing how Nick and Brian's relationship changed.  Nick's jealousy of Leighanne actually makes the slash storyline pretty believable.

One minor nitpicky thing - you might want to make Nick turn 17 instead of 18 in the first chapter because they filmed ALAYLM in 1997, not 1998.  Otherwise, great start!!

No problem, not a big deal!  I only mentioned it because it seemed like it would be an easy fix.

Yeah I went back and edited that and I also took out the part that mentions the Millennium tour because it wouldn't have happened yet at that point. Sorry for the error and thank you for letting me know. I've been using a timeline online as a reference and I think I just messed up the year.

Hey anyone who is checking for updates. I'm working on a chapter now currently and should be updating sometime this weekend, sorry I went MIA but I've been distracted and not writing. Tonight was better because I finally turned off my Friends marathon for the night to write on breaks at work. Hope to be posting soon :) thanks for being patient!

Just read Chapter 4 and enjoyed it!  This is such a fun throwback story, and the time period is perfect for this plot.  It makes sense that Nick would be so insecure about his sexual preference, and Brian would treat being gay like it's taboo because it still was back in the 90s.  I like that you included the Everybody video shoot in this chapter!

Thank you for the feedback, and I'm glad that I am getting the time period right. Unfortunately a lot of people were new to people being gay then and not everyone was as understanding as they are now. I thought this would make a lot of sense for Nick to be figuring things out at this point in his life when they were still young. Thanks again!

I just read Chapter 5.  I laughed at Nick calling Leighanne "Boob Job Barbie" - ha!  I also got a kick out of him hiding Brian's wallet, and then Brian figuring it out right away when he couldn't find it.  I loved the last scene where Brian threw Zelda out the window and called Nick out on being jealous.  He knows exactly what's going on.

I really laughed as I typed out the Boob Job Barbie quote, I think that would be something Nick would call her if he was pissed off. Brian’s pretty smart and he’s onto Nick’s shenanigans. I’m glad you’re enjoying the story, thanks for the feedback!
