April Fool's Challenge
« on: April 01, 2012, 06:13:25 AM »

Hello!

Here is your challenge for the month of April.

Create a story using one of these really 'foolish' ideas and make it into something amazing! We've all seen over the top plots and always thought "I am SO not going to read that!!" only to click on the link and find...yup, I was right that kinf of sucked! lmao

You have the opportunity to take an idea that seems so far out of the realm of possibility and twist it so it actually is believeable and works. For example: The New Kids on the Block are the most talented individuals on the planet! lmao good luck with that one!  ???

I keeed I keeed...hrmm lol

Anyway, pick from one of the bad ideas below and try to create a short story about it.

Ideas

The boys battle killer monkeys from outer space

Brian has a secret desire to eat other people's smelly shoes

The Incredible Two headed Howie

Nick turns into a porcupine

AJ is conjoined at the ass with his twin sister Alexa

Talking grapes tell the boys to kill people

Kevin rejoins the Backstreet Boys but he's invisible

Here are your rules:

~ No word limit and you can write up to three chapters if you need to.
~ All the boys need to appear in this one
~ You canNOT use the 'this was only a dream' idea
~ You may use a banner for this one (No this isn't an april fools. Some of these ideas deserve a banner lol) but...you still need to follow the rules!!

Good luck and I hope to see lots of entries! :) I know Julilly said she'd definitely do it!

When you say "All the boys" can that exclude Kevin, or no? lol

I guess since he's not a boy you don't have to include him.

Brian has a secret desire to eat other people's smelly shoes

I kinda want to take this one and make it really dark and depressing lol...

Just wanted to say that I'm all over the killer monkeys from outer space idea!  I have inspiration, I have time, and I have nothing else I'm itching to write, so hey, I might actually complete a challenge!  I usually have the most luck with the April Fool's challenges, so thanks for this one, Mare!

Wow, not only did I actually do a challenge, but I'm first?  Apparently this is what happens when I have no inspiration for the other stories I'm supposed to be writing right now LOL.  Also, this was a really fun idea!

I went with "The Boys battle killer monkeys from outer space," and here is the result!
