Nick on The Masked Singer
« on: October 14, 2020, 08:49:44 PM »

We have a thread for AJ on DWTS, so I figured we needed one for our favorite pink Crocodile on The Masked Singer!

I'm not usually a good guesser when it comes to this show, so it's fun watching it and knowing who one of them is from the beginning.  Nick cannot disguise that amazing voice of his, despite his attempts to, but he has so much range that he's got the judges stumped.  Their guesses last week were closer than this week; they were on the right track originally with boybands and Nick Lachey, but this week they were way off.  Which is good; I don't want them to guess him right away.  He's smart to keep changing up the style of the song and the style of his voice.  People that only know his BSB music and have never heard him sing live or his solo stuff may not be able to figure it out.

He has some tough competition though; they have a lot of great voices on the show again this season!

He's got crazy good competition so I hope his next song is a ballad so he can really show off. I'm so amused that he went from Bon Jovi to Britney. It's so typical of Nick but you can tell online it threw people off outside the fandom lol. Just waiting for him to throw in an oldies song or something from Journey.

I have a feeling the judges are going to start guessing him because fans keep tweeting about Nick and @ing the judges. I haven’t watched last night’s episode yet. I’m behind on my dvr watching.

I think he should do an oldies song too!

I wonder how long ago these episodes were recorded.  I don't know what the shooting schedule is for The Masked Singer, but it's not live, so the episodes are pre-recorded.  It could be that the whole season is already filmed, which means it doesn't matter what people tweet the judges.  I'm guessing they started back in the summer because remember when Nick did the two random live streams in July and sang a bunch of rock songs?  I bet he was getting ready for this.

The episodes were recorded at the end of August. I'm suspecting when fans assumed he was in Florida, he was actually in California doing the show lol.

He went dark on social media around then too. I'm so bummed next week is Group C cause I want more Croc songs lol. I think my favorite thing about the Toxic performance is Nick is embracing the madness that is that show and going full on. So great.

I know; I wonder if they'll do Group C two weeks in a row to catch up to the other groups.  Boo.  I'm looking forward to when we'll start seeing him every week.  This is the perfect show for him because it's so random and weird LOL.

I think so cause then we get the Super Nine where they all compete together. Which eh, normally I'd be more excited cause I like this wacky show but I just want more Nick lol. And yes! It's so perfect and why I wanted him on so badly, because I don't think the others would get as like into it as he is.

I could see AJ doing Masked Singer.  Actually, I could see Brian having fun with it too, if Brian was the type to do reality competition shows like that.  And who knows, Kevin or Howie could surprise us someday - what a great way for them to be in the spotlight!  Maybe Nick will pave the way for others to follow in his footsteps like he did with DWTS LOL.

I'd be so here for it if more did it. Lol.

AJ is even more distinctive than Nick, so he'd be easy to spot.

Yeah, AJ's voice would be hard to disguise.  Kevin or Howie would be hard for the general public to guess because people aren't as familiar with their voices.
