I just saw one in the Most Recent that horrified me. Maybe you should just not accept (or delete) stories that are so poorly written, they don't even resemble stories. Because really, with all the good or at least coherent stories on this site, who would even read crap like that? It would send a message to this teeny authors that they actually need to USE the writing skills they were taught in school in order to be accepted here. If they don't like it, they can post their illiterate ramblings on their own sites for their teeny friends to decipher.

That's a bit harsh, isn't it?

What is harsh? The rule that you should be able to write properly to post or Julie's suggestion of deleting the stories?

I think Julie hit the nail on the head....Granted I don't think your writing has to be publishable quality, your grammer and spelling should be on point....and you should be able to form a complete thought.

I have tried reading quite a few, that made absolutely no sense at all....you can't even get through the first chapter.

I don't think Julie is being harsh at all.

Eh...that's how I see it. I guess I'm a believer of giving second or more chances. Understandable that they should check their writing before posting on a site, but it's just how she went about it, is all.

And to Mare: the first choice.

I think for anyone, whether you have been out of school for years or even still in high school or even junior high, everyone should know that proof reading is a huge part of the writing process.

Everyone is given multiple chances, it's not like we are just deleting people's stories left and right. I know for me personally, i'm tired of people not reading the rules and just sloppily posting on this site without even taking the time to edit their work or read the banner rules. It should be a common courtesy. If you post here obey the rules or find somewhere else to go. I think the rules we have established are pretty easy and not that ridiculous.

I'm not sure what you mean about the 'how she went about it' thing. Personally I don't think what I said in the news section was all that harsh at all.
