Grab a drink, some popcorn, and get ready for a hella long review!
1. Do I think Brielle should have been so upset with Alex for leaving her at Nick's? Well... yes and no. Having been on the bad end of a pretty horrid bender myself I can understand how easy it could have been for Alex to have forgotten she was there. I mean, it's not like it was habit or routine for Brie to be there when he woke up at Nick's after drinking himself stupid. After all, she was in the bathroom when he woke up. Then, I can also see why Brie should have been upset. Regardless of understanding Alex's actions - it would still hurt to be forgotten in a strange place, with strange people, and no way to get home other than calling a cab. To top it all off, being awoken in the middle of the night to traipse down to some seedy bar with a man she barely knew to pick his sorry tail up, sleeping sitting up right after him saying that he needed her - yeah, I can see why she would be upset. But I think that it's not the kind of upset that she should continue to hold against him. I think an explanation and a heartfelt apology (plus flowers & chocolate) should cover it.
2. I agree with everything Brielle said to Alex during their argument. He needs his ass kicked and handed back to him several times over. I was rooting her on when she was throwing open the curtains and blinds then said fuck you right back to him. I don't know if she should have been more forgiving under the circumstances - she should know that he didn't mean it when he said "Fuck you.", that it was the alcohol talking. But that's the problem, it's the alcohol. I don't think she should hold what he says against him, but I definitely think she should hold the vehicle that made him say those things against him. You see what I'm saying? Like I said before, though, regardless of what it is and contrary to the old children's rhyme, words do hurt.. even if you know deep down they don't mean them or mean them the way they sounded. Words hurt. So, should she have been more forgiving? I don't know about forgiving, but I don't think she should give up on him. I think she should continue to hold his ass accountable for what he's said and done until he gets his self straight.
3. Move out or stay there? Hm. That's a tough one. Okay, not really. Maybe not move out, but I think do they do need some space. Hell, the house is big enough they can have some space just by staying in separate wings. I think if they move out, things can only get worse between them. But then, you know my philosophy, stay and fight through it - lol, you know what I'm talking about. So my vote for moving out or staying there is to stay there.
Just for fun: I don't know if there is any one thing he can do to gain her trust back. We both know trust is something you have to work on building, then rebuilding once it's shattered. He's going to have to do some groveling, for sure. No more saying I'm sorry. Those are just words unless you put the action to correct the mistakes behind them. He's going to have to prove to her he's not drinking again, and he's going to have to come completely clean to her about his past. The good, the bad, the ugly and the unbearable. I think with Brielle, he's going to have to bear his soul.

Author's Response: Woot, thanks for answering the questions. They didn't go over so well with everyone. I think you're right with a lot of it. Basically it comes down to what you said...Alex needs to bare his soul and be completely honest with her. And she needs to realize he has a disease and she needs to meet him halfway. She can be upset and angry, but she needs to look at the big picture. Thanks so much for the wonderful review. :)

You know, even though I know she's a hussy, I kind of feel bad for her. I mean, I know she's manipulative and crazy but I can KIND OF see her side - but then she never really did love him if she can't take this like a woman and be there for him. Sure, it's got to hurt but if they had that arrangement then she's at just as much fault as he is in this for the situation with Brielle. Then again, he probably would've done it anyway, lol. I could understand her being angry for a while over it, but in the end if she really did love him she'd come around and support him - so it's her fault that she's shown her "true colors" and shown Alex what she's really like. A spoiled brat who throws adult sized temper tantrums when she doesn't get her way.

I know I'm too late to suggest what Brie should get AJ for Christmas, but I'll throw a suggestion in there anyway. How about some nice AA pamphlets? Or a Dummy's Guide to Running Your Life. LOL.
This is all great so far, but you already know that. I was gonna finish up to chapter 20 tonight then work on finishing it all tomorrow but I'm already so sleepy. :)
