I don't mind that your chapters are short because your writing speaks for itself and you don't try to force something into 2,000+ words, Not that those aren't okay. lol Also, I love you writing these girls, you totally nail the teenage girl mentality, loving it! My favorite parts:
I slammed my head against the window. Mom braked hard.
"What was that?"
"Just a bird," I said sullenly.
"Wait till you see it, Claud!"
Claud. Gag me. - Literally LOL'd! :D
We got back in the car. I had high hopes that we'd just head back home, but mom insisted that we stop for lunch. After another hour and a half of listening to the Claudia channel, I was about ready to scream.
"Kayleigh are you coming to my bachelorette party tonight?" Claudia asked.
There wasn't enough liquor in the world to make me want to go to her bachelorette party. Even the maid of honor wasn't going to be there since she wasn't flying in until the morning. It was going to end up being mom, Claudia, and the other bridesmaids who would probably spend the entire evening crying over something stupid or showering Claudia with more ridiculous compliments to inflate her already gigantic ego. I could imagine that the presents wouldn't be thongs and handcuffs - more likely it would be Chicken Soup for the Virgin's Soul or something like that.
"I'm going to pass," I said in my most meek voice. "I don't think I'm old enough for that stuff."
Mom smiled at me from the rearview mirror. I congratulated myself on a fantastic acting job.
"I'm not planning anything your eyes can't see Kay," she said. I shook my head.
"It's okay. I'll wait until I'm older," I said sweetly.
"If you change your mind before I leave tonight, let me know," mom said. I just nodded. - Great acting job, indeed.
Anyway, can't wait for more!
Author's Response: Well, I've written my share of 2000, 3000+ word chapters. I only write what I need too in order to get the point across. For these stories it seems like around 1,000 words is plenty to keep the action going - so thank you for those kind words :) LoL I love Kay's dry pessimist outlook. Kay should seriously get an award for that little speech about not being 'old enough' for a bachelorette party. If mom only knew!

Yay An Update I love it! haha Glad your back and I love the way you write Kay's can't get out of here soon enough demeanour when she is with Claudia and her Mom and at least Leighanne thanked her for being patient with all of the wedding stuff that was a good first step and oh no,I hope she doesn't get in trouble.lol
