I forgot to mention in the last chapter that I loved the line you put in about Nick saying Brian's heart died. That was perfect and very telling of things that were to happen in the future. The double meaning in that line was fantastic and just proves how great of a writer you are. I also liked how you handed the part where Nick confides in Brian about Lou not being a good person, since we actually don't know what went on between the two of them and probably never will for sure. You handled it perfectly! Great job with that. I'm glad that they made up :)
I also enjoyed the part where Kevin and Brian went ring shopping. I could totally picture Kevin agonizing over finding the perfect ring and taking decades to decide if he wanted it or not, lol. That's so Kevin-ish. This chapter was so good!!
Author's Response: As odd as it sounds, this argument was really "fun" to write because Nick's feelings here are kind of pivitol to explain at this point. It's one thing to be overlooked by your friends and altogether different to be ignored by your Best Friend. And that's a key theme throughout this story that's going to keep rearing its head. Seeing Nick vocalize the way he feels was really freeing for the character in this chapter.
I could picture Kevin taking his sweet ass time picking out the ring too!

I keep wanting to give this five stars. So, just know that in my mind, this story is worth all of the stars. All of them!! Haha.
Lou is so creepy and gross. Is it wrong that I sort of giggled when Brian said that Lou seemed to grow taller? Because I pictured him getting super huge and cowering over Brian, screaming at him about being late lol. But honestly, that was a tense moment, especially when Brian said he was onto him and that he paid them minimum wage. Lou gon' get screwed! Ugh. Serves him right.
And AJ and Nick! Ugh, those boys going out and getting into trouble. I laughed at the image of Nick falling asleep into his fruit loops, but things went downhill fast when Kevin started yelling at him. Honestly, I can see where Nick is coming from, where he's automatically the liar and thinks they treat him like a little kid... but he's sort of acting immature at this point, and getting into trouble, and he and AJ are going down a bad path so of course Kevin's going to be worried about him and act all parental. Cause you know, his own parents won't.
As always, this story is fantastic.
Author's Response: Aww my favorite reviewer is back! haha. And I have almost as much reading to catch up to your reviews as you do to catch up to the story! Glad to see you're back and still enjoying the action! ... I think there's evidence in interviews and visual cues that Nick really was starting to feel this way around this time. Some of the looks he gives the other guys - especially Kevin! - during this time frame is just so funny. Poor Nickolas, always the baby! It reminds me of him on Cruise at the beach party when Kevin told him not to say fuck and Nick said "I can say fuck whenever the fuck I want" as a response. LOL Those two are so freaking hilarous when Kevin goes all parental. <3 Thanks for the review!

Oh, finally the real drama can begin! *__* lol
The first scene with Brian's parent and Leighanne is so fraking cute. And it's like the calm before the storm.
Oh, Brian. First, I want to tell that you've done a great job with the medical explanation, I understood it very clearly without checking with the translator. lol Now I can't literally wait to read Brian's reaction and how and if he will tell about this diagnosis to his family.

Now we're getting to the big drama! I am constantly checking for updates on this story, is that sad? I mean I know what's going to happen kind of, but I am really interested in your interpretation.
I have one little correction in this chapter though. The VDS causes the murmur not the other way around. A murmur is basically an irregular heart beat sometimes caused by defects in the heart. When Brian was a baby they would have heard the murmur then checked and found the hole that was causing it. The VDS was what made him vulnerable to endocarditis. He would have already known about the VDS.

And we don't want you to die Brian!

Aww, poor Brian. :( I'm glad he finally went through with the appointment and got the bad news over with. You did a nice job explaining the VSD! I feel so sorry for Brian; clearly, he was some degree of denial and had no idea how bad it was going to be. I would be terrified too. I can't imagine his parents' reaction when they find out... especially when they hear that he's going to put it off two more months. The scene with them and Leighanne at the beginning was cute, btw; I'm glad they were accepting of her - not that I thought they wouldn't be. Brian's parents are really cute. Looking forward to the next update!

I'm glad he went to the doctor but he's still so stubborn. I can imagine the shitstorm that Lou and Johnny will have finding out Brian needs surgery, but he needs to stop putting the career before his health. Great chapter :)

Nick's being a real dick about this whole Lou thing, but his b-day gift to Brian was cute. I know exactly what picture that is; it's such a Frick & Frack classic! I love how AJ and Nick are calling Lou the Bison now LMAO. He really does look like a bison, complete with the big fat hunched back. It's kind of an insult to bisons, though... poor bisons. :(
Author's Response: Poor, poor Bisons! ...And really it is such a F&F classic picture! I just thought it was the perfect picture Nick would've tried to use to make up to Brian with... lol At least until he saw Leighanne.

Awww yay, he finally popped the question! Very cute chapter, but I felt bad for Brian that Nick didn't come to his party. :( I'm glad he managed to reschedule the doctor's appointment. I hope he actually goes through with it this time!

Oh gosh, Brian... Oh gosh Nick. I don't even know what to say because it really breaks my heart seeing Brian so sad and hurt and Nick just keeping up with this behaviour. He made a mistake but he did it because you told him a lie, Nick. So... just make up because you never know what could happen.
*Oh, I remember that night of February, staying up until late because BSB were on Sanremo. *__*

Frackless Brian makes me so sad. :( he and Nick better talk or something soon! Brian's proposal was awkwardly adorable, and the boys reactions....mini golfing...so many things made me go awww. Great chapter as always Hannah :)

"It wasn't a huge deal, just an extra week..." (cue music Dun! Dun! Dahhhh!) and cue more drama! That part with Brian and Leighanne and the laudry was cute. Howie the ladies man!

Aawh...I wish Brian could go to that damn doctors appointment, he needs to go asap!
Date: 07/03/12 01:03 pm Title: Chapter Twenty-Two
Aww... just when Brian was finally taking care of things, Lou has to go and screw it up again! I felt sorry for his poor mother at the end of this chapter. The scene with Leighanne outside the laundromat was super cute! Just an FYI, Brian's pediatric cardiologist was a woman named Jacqueline Noonan - if you Google her, she actually has a Wikipedia page! But here's an article about the HHC where she's quoted: http://www.usatoday.com/life/health/doctor/lhdoc218.htm
Author's Response: lol The insanity of the amount of info that's on the web just astounds me to no end... Thank you for the info, I'll edit that paragraph later to reflect correctly, once I've had a chance to read the articles.
