LOL! Nick passing out on the lawn was priceless. He should've listened to Brian. But of course this is Nick we are talking about. The boy is so hard headed. And he just had to pick beer pong of all games to play. Couldn't blame Brian for leaving him tho. Loved AJ and Showiest appearances. And thought Uncle Keg getting Brian put in the same dorm room as Nick was sweet but't wait to see wha little overprotective. I am loving this story. Cant wait to see what other trouble Brian is gonna have to bail Nick out of. Keep writing! ;)

LOL! This chapter was funny. It's cute how completely naive Nick is! He had to grow up so fast (in some ways) in real life that it's hard to imagine him as this fresh-faced college kid in a Mickey Mouse shirt who's never tasted beer before LOL, but that's the fun of AU. I enjoyed the scene of Brian trying to take care of Nick at the end, especially "He's not little" and the last line LOL.

Aww, I felt bad for Nick when he was listening to Brian talk to his mom and thinking about his own mom. I wonder what happened to Brian's last roommate. Is Brian a sophomore or something, or did Nick just start a semester late? It's interesting that Brian seems to have known Nick's parents, but Nick didn't know Brian before this. Curious to find out the back story of that whole relationship. And yay, Howie's in the story now! I had a feeling he and AJ would be frat boys, but I'm glad he doesn't seem like a douche. I don't remember if I mentioned it in one of my first reviews or not, but I like the little Disney quotes at the beginning of each chapter - cute touch!
Author's Response: Nick started a bit later than Brian, like you thought. I love non-douchey Howie as well, I wanted to give him more of a role than I usually do when I write AU. No you haven't mentioned the quotes yet, but I enjoy them as well. I figured they would set the mood of each chapter. Trying a lot of things I haven't done before with this story. I like the dynamic between Kevin and Nick at the beginning of this chapter. Their conversations are great!
One thing I was a little confused by was Brian's introduction. There was really no explanation as to how that coincidence happened that Nick's adoptive father's cousin ends up his roommate. Then it's just "oh, this is my cousin" and gone.
I felt like it was a bit disconnected at that point and could have used a lot more to explain why that happened, whether it was a freak coincidence, if it was planned, why Nick has never met Kevin's cousin yet Brian knows him as "Bob's son", etc.
Author's Response: Thank you for pointing that out to me, I do plan on explaining more of the story behind why Nick and Brian are roommates. I appreciate the comments, they are helping me a lot though, thank you Julia! I like Nick and Kevin's conversations too :)

Ahhhhh I love love love this story so far. I know that we've only gotten a sneak peek of this story but so far I can tell it's gonna be a great one. I love this story for three reasons: 1. it's highlighting Nick's drawing 2. Mickey Mouse (24 and love him & everything Disney, totally obsessed) 3. the little ways that you have incorporated the boys in the story so far. I love 'Uncle Kevin'. And Brian and 'Woody', he kinds of reminds me of him too. And Howie's stupid winking, cracked me up. Can't wait to see the trouble that Nick gets in, cause face it, it's Nick and he will find trouble. LOL. Keep writing! Enjoying it :)

This is the first story I have written Kevin in that kind of "daddy" role....usually I make him mean, but thought for this one I'd change it up. The Disney stuff is one of the fun parts of this story because I'm a huge fan of the movies, and I grew up with them so there will be a lot more to come. Thank you so much for the long review and taking time to do that :)

Love the Disney references!! I got excited when I saw that Brian was Nick's roommate! Since he's still Kevin's cousin, did they plan that? I was a little confused if that was coincidence or not. So Brian's a farm boy in this AU! LOL at his prize-winning goat! I hope we see AJ and Howie at some point.. I'm sure you have something planned; lots of opportunities in a story set in college! Maybe they'll be in the frat. :)
Author's Response: Aw I'm excited you're excited. Brian and Nick being roomies just made sense. As for him being put with Nick on purpose, haven't figured that out yet, but it would be an odd coincidence. The other boys will most certainly come into play as the story goes on. I love the Disney stuff too, as soon as I went with the Disney theme, the story finally took off for me. Thanks so much, Julie!

I'm glad you finally got going on this college story! I was curious to see how that would turn out. I enjoyed the first chapter. I like that Kevin's in it, even though it's an AU, still in that mentor role to Nick. I wonder what happened to his family. I loved the description of how his mom smelled like brown sugar and his dad played catch until it was dark. They sound like great parents... not the Bob and Jane Carter of canon BSB fic! LOL It's cute that Nick wants to be a Disney animator; I can see that. That's the fun of AU, to give him a totally different path in life. Great start, Tracy!

It took me a while to figure out what kind of story I wanted it to be, and I think this is going to work better. I haven't written Kevin in this role before so I'm glad it came across well. As for his parents, I wanted to make them good parents for once, I think he deserves that :) thanks for reviewing!
