Okay soooo, I loved this chapter. During the scene with sean i was totally imagining him as clive owen lol you know the scene I'm talking about! I feel really bad for Nick, he's going through so much and he's trying so hard for her and she doesn't understand. But you can't understand what you can't see right? They need to rely on each other, grieve together and just be together. I feel your pain with writing the tough stuff. I went through it too with writing AS and you'll get through it because I know I did, and you can too (wow I totally sound like an infomercial now like one of those hair ones LMAO!) Anyways awesome chapter! Lovesit!
Author's Response: Yea I can kind of see Sean almost looking a bit like Clive Owen without the accent LOL. And of course I know the scene! Duh, my inspiration! Thanks for being my cheerleader :) It is some hard things I am working through here and you are also my inspiration and I know what I am going through is normal. If it means Nick and Alyssa could have the potential to be as connected as your Nick and Ali it's worth it! Nick and Alyssa DO need each other more than ever but you know Alyssa... She's got that stubborn Italian thing going on lol

gaaaaaaah. dont bring her back. ah i hate her. I knew she would push him away. Zoey has always been a favorite of mine because of the Greek meaning life. My friend had about 4 miscarriages and then finally had a baby girl and they ended up naming her Zoey because of that. Sad that Alyssa had to realize that and of course she thinks she is being punished for her sins. But hopefully she starts to realize that nick just lost a second daughter and almost lost her. it stinks that she cant see that yet. cant wait for more.

I actually never knew that Zoey meant life until you told me and I was like holy shit... Freaky coincidence there so I just had to throw that out there. It is frustrating that Alyssa isn't seeing Nick's pain and is kinda only thinking about herself, but I think in her position its very easy to think like that. This is definitely something she will struggle with in the next few chapters. I don't think it would believable to just wake up one day and realize she can't do it alone. Thats going to take time.
Ha about Shayla coming back for the sequel... Well, I can't say much yet, but she's kind of going to play a pretty important role at least in the beginning. And she'll prolly be even more vicious under the circumstances... That's all I can tell you for now.

As much as I fell bad for Lyss, I can't help but be frustrated with her. I know she is in a lot of pain, but the things she said to Nick about their relationship almost made it seem like the only reason that she was being with Nick in the first place was because of Zoey. And at a time like this she is going to need Nick there to support her, she really shouldn't be pushing him away.
I feel horrible for Nick on every level, not only is he mourning over Zoey, but it is almost like Lyss is rejecting him, and to top it all off he still had enough courage to finally leave Shayla.
This has to be a difficult situation to get through for the both of them. I just wish that Lyss would allow herself to depend on Nick to help her through it.
Great chapter Mel!! I can't wait for the conversation between Lyss and Sean.... I really hope he doesn't freak out and lose control....

I agree with you Brandy ! Alyssa more than ever needs Nick's support to get her through this, but she has been through some pretty traumatic stuff and the last thing she can think about is moving in with Nick and starting a relationship. She has to take care of her biz first. But of course Lyss wouldn't be Lyss unless she thinks she can handle something on her own, so it should be interesting to see how this pans out,
Nick is holding up impeccably well under the circumstances. I hope he's still believable. He's definitely the stronger one right now as weird as it might sound. The Alyssa/Sean convo will be next chapter although I can't assure that it'll be drama free cuz well you know me LOL

Although I kinda knew this was coming (every story needs some drama) I really hated it! hehehehe funny though and maybe strange as well 'cause on the other side I loved it! It makes the storyline so strong! Guess hate and love are really close to each other, hehehe.
I believe you are up too some pretty hard chapters to write but for now I think you managed the first ones pretty good!
Since I always believe in happy endings i'm looking forward to read how this will make Nick's and Alyssa's relationship stronger. Perhaps maybe so strong that they will know what to do with their marriages. I do hope one thing though....... That Nick will be officialy the father at Zoey's papers..... will see!

Well I say if a story makes you feel so many emotions I must be doing something right! The next few chapters ARE going to be hard to write. I hope to update again soon. As for a happy ending there is still time. You'll have to see how losing Zoey affects their relationship. As for Nick being the father on paper I wasn't really going to focus in on that or really what their plans or for Zoey now cuz I think thats a lil morbid and not what I want to focus on. I think this chapter ended up coming out perfectly...you did a fabulous job portraying Nick's emotion and how much more painful it is for him to have to be guarded because of circumstances. The scene between him and Alyssa at the end is touching, so tough - but you did a great job with it as well.

so I know I don't usually critique the structure of your chapters because in my opinion, it's your story, write it how you want. But there was something about this chapter that seemed really off to me and I thought maybe I should point it out in case you didnt notice. If I'm remembering correctly, the only people in the room at the time that actually KNEW Nick was the father of alyssa's baby were Teri, Tricia and Kevin. Obviously Shayla knew, but she was never told and Nick didn't actually know that she knew. So Sean leaves and Nick breaks down and ultimately confesses to several people for the first time, including his wife, that he was the father of Alyssa's baby. I totally love that aspect of the story, but the problem is that not one person reacted to the news. It was like everyone knew, and it was well known and not even remotely close to a secret. That whole scene kind of seemed awkward to read because I was expecting to get the shocked reactions from everybody, and there just weren't any. Again, your story, write it how you want. But I wasn't sure if you noticed that or not so I'm just pointing it out.
On that note.. you friggen killed nicks kid!!! AGAIN!!! you hate him. You're probably actually and nsync fan arent you? A justin lover.. I can tell. hahah
This chapter made me reallllly sad and I feel horrible for alyssa but mostly for nick. And obviously it hasnt even sunk in for her just what nick is feeling since this is the second time it happened, but im sure once that happens alyssa will feel even worse. But now i wonder what will happen to their relationship. It's common for relationships to fall apart when a child is lost, and considering all the other circomstances involved, this could really test their love. I hope they pull through. Update soon!!

No worries! I do see where you are coming from and although half the people were unaware of the situation I think they kind of were clued in by everything going on. I guess definitely could've gone more into reactions, but I admit that I got lazy. Thanks for the critique though. I will keep that in mind in subsequent chapters.
Haha I am SOOO not an Nsync fan. Eww.... Justin *shudders* Honestly I'd have preferred not to have the whole Katie storyline, but by the time I realized I hated it I couldn't back out, so Nick lost two kids. I know.. I'm a meanie!
Alyssa is definitely going to take it just as bad as Nick. Nick may have lost two kids, but its different when you actually are the one with the baby inside you, so I'm gonna say its going to be equally hard for the both of them. As for how it impacts their relationship... That is the question. Will it tear them apart or will it make them stronger and bring them together? You'll have to see!
