I know I will continue to read the story but right now I don't even have the desire... Sorry Mel, but it shows that you are a great writer who brings out some emotions. Author's Response: Aww I am sorry Franzi! I hope that it doesn't discourage you from reading. Of course I'm definitely not forcing the next chapter down your throat and if you need a break I understand. The next few chapters are going to be rough ones so I prolly will have trouble writing them too.

It is so sad. I had pretty much already come to grips with the fact that it was probably going to be the baby who died, but it still didn't make it any easier. Poor Nick, it is almost like he has to hide his heart ache. I can't Imagine how hard that would be, to be hurting so bad, but not being able to show it. I feel bad for Sean too, but at the same time I am so angry with him. I just keep thinking that if he hadn't showed up and caused a scene the Lyss would have never been upstairs to begin with.
Then there is Shayla. She makes me so mad! I feel absolutely no pity for her anymore. And it angers me even more that she is trying to be supportive of Nick now. I wish she would just get hit by a mack truck or something.
I can't imagine what it would be like if I were Lyss and woke up no longer pregnant only to find out that my baby was dead. That has to be the most aweful feeling in the world.
Overall though, this chapter was beautifully written and you were able to show so much emotion without to many words. Great job!!! And huge thanks for not killing Aylssa!!
Author's Response: Thanks Brandy! It was a really hard chapter to write and surprisingly what gave me the biggest trouble is Shayla and Nick. I originally had Nick really lashing out on her and it just wasn't working. It was seeming like he cared more about what to do about their marriage than the baby, so i scrapped it and we'll get back to that later. You're right though... It had to be the baby because do you seriously think I'd kill Alyssa after all the hard work I've put into her. I know its really sad and not what everyone hoped for, but I think you'll start to see a rainbow come out of this towards the end. Hopefully I'll get this next half out soon!

I loved the chat between Kevin and Nick however...

Only critic I can do (and it's not even one) is that iz could have tried to talk with Nick as well (isn't he suppose to be her best friend ???) and not only Sean (even though I guess it's because nobody was really there for Sean... awww.. )

That is a evil little cliffie, miss! OK...so many things...I love the symbolism of Alyssa and the blood and the white dress in the beginning. I love the interaction between Nick and Kevin at the end. I think you did a great job on the flashback, I especially like how even though N/A had been in the sack a few moments before, she immediately turned into his friend when it all went down with Katie and Serena.

You know what I just realized.....there is a very good possibility that Nick is going to loose either his daughter or the love of his life on his birthday. How is he ever going to enjoy his birthday again. It is so sad Mel. I know it is just a story and all, but like a dork, I feel like I know them....and I feel so for Nick......
Hope your writing for the next chapter is coming along good. Can't wait to get my eyes on it!!!

a sequel with shayla in it? ughhh. well i guess it could be because shes going to trial. yeah thats what i will stick to so i feel better about it. good job on the medical jargon, its pretty accurate. I havent learned much yet but from what I do know you got it all pretty right. : )
