My stomach is flipping....all that is going through my head is "Is it Alyssa or the baby...or is it both."
Honestly, if I had to choose, I choose Aylssa to live. As hard as it is to lose a baby, it is even harder for the father when the mother dies giving birth. And hopefully Aylssa wouldn't have to much damage to her uterus to get pregnant again.
Of course, I don't want Zoey to die, but we don't really 'know' her yet, and we 'know' Alyssa.
If it is Alyssa though, Nick is going to have to come forward himself about Zoey, and ofcourse Sean isn't going to believe him, and then there will have to be paternity tests done.
Ughhh, this is so nerve racking.
Hopefully I am exagerating and both of them are ok, but one the baby needs blood or something, and Nick is going to be the only one with her blood type and then Sean will find out that way.
By the way, your explantion of a ruptured placenta was very good.
Another reason I hope Aylssa makes it is so that she can tell the truth about what happened. I know Shayla didn't mean to push her, but she did, and she should come clean about it.

Author's Response: Aww... Thanks Brandy! I definitely have to agree with your logic in wanting Alyssa to live over the baby if it came down to that. It'll definitely be hard on Nick if the baby dies, but he can't lose Alyssa. As heartless as it sounds you can always have another baby. And if Zoey is to live remember she's two months premature. That could lead to other health problems. I'm sorry to leave it on such a nerve racking note. And I an glad you thought my medical jargon was good! I did some research on placenta abruption and I really wanted it to be realistic. Sometimes it is hard for me when I myself have never been pregnant, so I rely a lot on research and the info of people who have kids already.

How my god.....Mel, you can't do something like this !!!!!!!! Now I won't sleep until I know what happens... Also, it could have given Brian a heart attack ! I guess I can't really blame any of the 4 individuals for their harsh words with one another. Shayla and Sean had every right to feel betrayed and to be pissed and Nick and Alyssa had every right to defend themselves when being attacked. This is just how hard it is reading your story, there is no RIGHT or WRONG side. Even with Shayla at the end, I don't think of her as a mean person or the devil, even though she 'pushed' Alyssa down the stairs. I think she'll most likely need to go to the hospital as well, coz she'll probably have a nervous breakdown realizing what she's done.
I guess this is definitely the mark of a great author : bringing to life character that are neither good or evil, but always in between. Can't wait to read more !
