Author's Response: Well, it really isn't like it was a premeditated move on Shayla's part. More of a heat of the moment thing which will play out to be very interesting. I'm sorry if the outcome of the situation might possibly ruin the story for you. All I can say is that sometimes bad things to happen to make things better in the long run. I've already decided where I'm taking the story. I hope you'll give it a fair chance.

ok i dont even know what to say lol one minute i was laughing at the bitching fight and the next im like oh come on this cant be happening. Very dramatic. Wow. Well now im really curious to see how you handle this one. Obviously Nick and Sean are gonna be headbutting over being protective of Alyssa now that shes's hurt, but I think for different reasons, sean because he feels he has to and nick because he loves her. Then of course at some point sean's gonna find out Nick's the father and whatever's left of "all hell" will break loose. This is just carzyyy!! Update soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Author's Response: Lol I'm glad that I covered a full range of emotions in this chapter. There is definitely going to be some friction between Nick and Sean, but of course they both want Alyssa and the baby to be okay. The little piece about Nick being the father will be coming out soon, so stay tuned.

Author's Response: I do too, but its just so damn tempting as a writer to use them sometimes lol. I think after the previous chapter we all knew that Sean was going to show up at the party and cause a scene, but yea the Shayla/Alyssa confrontation was definitely a shocker. All I will say is that my idea of a happy ending and your idea may be different, but the ending will be "happy."

AWESOME! (Yup, so awesome that it needed to be in caps.) It was incredibly long, which rocked. I can see where you would have almost forgotten about some things, there sure was a lot going on in this chapter.
When Alyssa spotted Sean my breath caught in my throat. I'm glad she was able to keep her cool around him though. Nick on the other hand... lol I loved his orgasm comment. Of course that's something Nickers would say, ha!
Shayla is a supreme bitch to the extreme.. but you know what? She just got solid proof that her husband was having an affair and having a child with not only another woman, his ex-fiancee at that! Of course she's going to be upset, but that doesn't justify her pushing Alyssa down the stairs. (Though, the way I read it, it didn't really seem like she tried to make Alyssa fall on purpose..) Still everyone's going to have it out for her now. And with all the media there? Shiiit.
I adored this chapter, Mel. Needless to say I'm on the edge of my seat waiting for the next update. You definitely did the job. You're an excellent writer and you've definitely come a long way since UMS. =) Great work!!

There was a lot going on! In fact, I almost forgot to include the scene where Shayla finds the sonogram which was just a tiny bit important lol. Yes... Nick's orgasm comment was great! One of my favorite lines. Sean pretty much walked right into that one.
I'm really glad that you made that comment about Shayla. I mean I know after this chapter everyone wants to kill her and I can't say that I blame them, but there's a lot more to her than just Nick's bitchy wife. She's arguably one of my more interesting characters. Finding out everything she has in the manner she has definitely has chipped away at her sanity a little bit. And yes she definitely did not purposely push Alyssa thinking Oh I'll fix you and your baby... It was just heat of the moment, she got angry and pushed her to scare her not realizing that Alyssa actually could fall. Still, you are right that she's in a bad position now and you'll have to keep reading to see how she handles the situation.
Aww and thank you SOOOO much for the major compliment. I was rereading UMS the other day and I can't believe how far I've come either!

OMG Mel!!!! So I havent been able to review the past few chaps but Im all caught up now and am in shock after this chap! Please let Alyssa be okay, I dont think Alyssa could deal with losing Zoey! Neither would Nick especially this being the 2nd daughter he loses! I really hate Shayla, although the plan wasnt to push Alyssa she should have known when she decided to confront her at such a tense moment that anything could happen! At least the evening worked to bring Nick and Alyssa back to speaking terms but now everything is hanging... AMAZING job Mel, I dont think anyone would of been able to pull the storyline together and have it unfold so perfect just like you did! Update soon!

Thia!!! It's nice to hear from you again! Don't worry about not reviewing every chapter. You picked a good point to get caught back up again anyway. I'm not making any promises about Alyssa's condition, but I agree that losing Zoey would be devestating for both her and Nick. In the next chapter we'll get into how Shayla feels about the incident, but obviously she didn't intend to hurt Alyssa as much as to shake her up a little. Boy did she get a surprise, huh? You're right... She should've known better that a situation that heated could only end in trouble, but in case you haven't noticed Shayla's gone a little off the deep end. I know things with Alyssa and Nick are still up in the air and it all depends on the events of the next few chapters. I'm glad you enjoyed it Thia! I was a little scared that the scene was too dramatic for me to pull off in a believable fashion.
