For a tiny, very tiny second I felt sorry for Shayla at the end... But the second is over now! lol I loved the chapter. The end with the hard on was really funny! Shayla seems desperate to get Nick back involved with her. But I guess she did it to make Alyssa jealous, too.
I am glad that most of Nick's siblings liked her. I am not too sure about Angel yet. I guess there will be more about this situation in the next chapter? I wanna know what Lyss and Nick bought for each other, too.
I hope to read more soon! But I hope your having an awesome holiday, too. Maybe I get some work done mayself! lol My bachelor thesis is calling me... =/
Btw . I thought about a name for your series. It just popped in my mind and I thought it would kinda fit. But these are your stories so the decision is yours! ;) I thought of "Bittersweet Betrayal".

Wow I had to laugh at loud at Shayla's Santa outfit! The sad thing is I've seen those in the stores...hahaha. Oh man. That had to have been so awkward for Alyssa, to walk in on them like that. And of course Nick would get turned on by her, Alyssa's a hottie! Shayla's just a bitch :P Oh, and you did a great job with the gift exchange so far, Mel! No offense to anyone, but i think that stuff is just SOOOOO trashy, so the idea of putting Shayla in an outfit like that and having her think she's completely sexy cracked me up. Although Shayla bugs me I did feel for her at the end of this chapter then again I'm not really sure whether she actually does love him like Lyssa does or whether she loves the image of them. I have a feeling it's more of the image thing and she is just going to bide her time so when this all blows up she is going to look like the victim!
Why oh why couldn't he have gone to the bathroom before hand??!!!! He is starting to get sloppy then maybe subconsiouly he wants to get caught.

Shayla is all about the image. I think she loves the fact that they seem on the outside and to the media like this perfect Hollywood couple. So many people in the media like them that she doesn't want to ruin the illusion of them in reality not being that perfect after all. Lyss of course loves him on a more personal level.
Interesting idea about him wanting to be caught subconsciously. Another reader pointed this out to me that he's so into Alyssa that his judgement is getting clouded and he is getting sloppy. May be interesting to explore. Thanks sweetie!

i almost feel bad for shayla. ALMOST. it says a lot that alyssa is the only one that can turn nick on at this point. because most of the time even if he didnt want to cheat once things got started he would give in and go with it but he cant even react to shayla. sad that she noticed though. cant wait for more. : )
Author's Response: Yea this is a HUGE change for Nick... I didn't want to sound all Mary Sue like Alyssa at 6 months pregnant is the ONLY woman that can turm him on, but I wanted to show that he's just very physically attracted to Shayla anymore because he's been so focused on Alyssa. Also I think the fact that she went almost too overboard with the whole Santa outfit and the "naughty boy" routine may have factored in a little. It's kinda messed up Shayla had to notice, but I think that'll just give her more ammunition to be more suspicious of Alyssa.
