Mel....I don't see Aylssa as the villian, but I think she is afraid that in the end she will be seen as the villian because of the choices she makes.
Even though she loves Nick and wants to be with him, she would almost rather be with Sean and not be happy, than be with Nick and look like a home wrecker and a adulterer.
From the begginning of the whole baby fiasco I haven't agreed with the way she is handling it. I agree, that if I were in Angel position, I would think the same about Lyss as she does.
I am not trying to hate on Aylssa, but it is kind of hard nto to, when I don't feel she is making the right decisions.
I know it is a story and all, and to get to the good, you have to go through the ugly....and I wouldn't want it any other way.....
I think you are doing a fantastic job with the characters.I never know if I am going to love Lyss in a chapter or Hate her.....you always keep me on my toes....

First I want to apologize Brandy if I came off sounding offended. It was 3am when I got your review and I'd had a pretty bad night, so I wasn't in the best of moods. I'm sorry if i jumped to the defensive with Alyssa. I can see where you are coming from because I know that she's a very frustrating character. Hell, it's a frustrating situation that I wrote myself in lol. More frustrating than I thought it would be originally, The villian comment definitely makes better sense now that you elaborated on it and I definitely agree with you on it. Alyssa is still to a certain degree afraid of what people are going to think, which I think is pretty normal for a woman in her situation. Even the most confident woman could falter from the insensitive opinions of others. That is actually going to be a HUGE part of this sequel. She's definitely torn right now between Nick and Sean and right and wrong. I guess you'll just have to keep reading to decide which way she's going to go. I'd prolly agree w/ Angel too if I didn't know the situation from the inside. Alyssa's made a lot of bad desicions throughout this story (so as Nick) and that's kind of the point. She gets herself into trouble how is she going to get through it without losing EVERYTHING?
Sometimes as an author I have to remind myself that jst because a reader may not agree with every move a character makes, it doesn't mean that they hate the story lol. In fact, if you really are that frustrated with Alyssa it shows me that you must really be into the story and I'm doing my job. Again I'm sorry if I offended you. You always leave me such great, helpful reviews and I'm glad that you are so invested in the story.

Im am so for team Alyssa no matter what Angel says! Alyssa is not selfish, I mean we all know that the reason she wanted to tell Sean that the babywas his was because she is married to him and thought she loved him! But now that she knows that she loves Nick, shes willing to take the risk of disowned and whatnot to be together!I love Nick to death but he on the otherhand is still with Shyala just because thats gonna be his comfort if it doesnt work out with Alyssa. I thinks its time that he leaves her, in a way itll show Alyssa that hes fully committed into giving them a chance! Yes Nick and Alyssa must have the talk asap! Im glad that Alyssa finally made up with her sister! Its about time that they leave it in the past and least it was cleared up to as why she did it and all the aplogies were said. Great job Mel! Cant wait for an update!

good stuff. its good to see it from nicks end also. because he is struggling just as much as she is, maybe even a lil more just because like angel said she has the baby, she has the control. its sticky on both ends and hopefully this will push them to finally discuss their future. but really all that might suck but if they really love each other and want to have their family, everyone else's bullshit becomes second. cant wait for more. : )
Author's Response: Yea sometimes I feel like I skimp out on Nick's side of things so this was a nice scene to write. I think this will prompt at least Nick to want to lay everything out on the table. They'll definitely have a lot of bullshit to deal with and it'll be interesting to see how they deal with it all.

Im so glad Alyssa was finally able to confide in Meg about the whole Nick and baby situation because not only does it help her get it off her chest but it also lets her hear what someone outside of the situation's perpective is. It is about time that her and Nick talk about what theyre going to do, is Nick going to leave Shayla? Is Alyssa really going to really just drop the bomb on Sean from the cheating on him, to the baby not being his, to the fact that she continued seeing Nick while he was overseas? What will theyre families say?There is a lot that is going to happen if they decide to get together! I dont think it should really matter, they can say the hell with everything, as long as they are on the same page and will be there for eachother! Great job!
Author's Response: Yea she did tell Teri, but Teri is a lil more involved in their circle than Meg, so I guess Meg can be more objective. They DEFINITELY need to talk this all out. It is a VERY sticky situation and being together is definitely going to cost both of them a heavy price. They just have to decide if the risks outweigh their happiniess or not.

This was a great chap. a lot went on! Nick is already spoiling the baby and Alyssa! Totally love the MILF shirt haha! Its so true that Nick and Alyssa should have been more careful with the hooking up, espeacially since she lives ina military base! And I think Nick might be right about maybe Alyssa finally forgiving Stepahnie... because if she forgave Nick, she should forgive her sister! As always...great job!
Author's Response: Nick is already got the spoiling part of fatherhood down just fine lol. I'm glad you thought the MILF shirt was a cute idea. Living on a military base definitely can be tough. Alyssa and Nick are going to have to be more conscious of where and when they can be together from now on. And yes the whole not forgiving Steph thing is defnitely a double standard. Author's Response: Thanks! I'm so glad that you agree with Teri's philosphy. A lot of people have complained that Alyssa is selfish and I don't mean her to be, but sometimes you really do have to do what makes YOU fee happy and fuck what everone else thinks. As for how together they'll be? Well, it'll still be a slow process, but there is some possibility I suppose.

Oh that was HOT! I loved it... I totally get why Alyssa didnt go all the way with Nick because although the fooling around is technically cheatin, actually going ahead and having sex with him just seems worse... Aww I loved the ending, when theyre laying together and he can feel the baby kicking... it just proves that they need to be together for this baby! Great job Mel!

Great Chapter Mel.....I love how Angel just put the entire situation in a whole new light. She is looking at it all from an outsiders point of view....much like us readers.....I agree that Lyss really does seem like a pretty selfish person at very angle you look from. She say's she doesn't want to hurt Sean, but in reality she just doesn't want to get caught.
That is why the convo with Meg in the last chapter is going to be detrimental to her actions reguarding Nick...she doesn't want to get caught. God forbid her daddy be disappointed in his perfect little angel.
I feel bad for Lyss sometimes, and I am pissed at her at the same time. She uses the excuse she doesn't want to hurt anyone, but in reality she just doesn't want anyone to think she is the vilian.
I am glad she and Steph have moved on...however I was quite shocked at her asking Steph to be the Godmother...and that lies come out of her mouth so easily about Nick, right after she just made up with Steph....

Interesting... Most people thought that as readers they disagree with Angel because they know the situation from an INsiders perspective versus an OUTsiders perspective. I'm not sure thoughhow you see Alyssa as a villian though. She definitely doesn't make the best desicions at times, but I always saw as flawed and not a villian per say. I hope I'm not making her out to be that way. If I am, I'm definitely not doing my job as a writer. I've worked really hard to make her a better person than in UMS. And I really don't think being caught by her "Daddy" is the biggest of her worries although there will be some Daddy issues that arise later on.
As for the asking Steph to be Godmother that wasn't something I orginally planned. It just sort of happened. As for lying about Nick I just don't think she was really comfortable yet telling Steph everthing. They only just made up after all. There's bound to be some awkwardness.

im on nick's side. alyssa maybe have made some mistakes, but her's are no worse than nick's and at the end of the day, I think she's a genuinly good person and we all know she's crazy about nick. he's got nuttin to worry about. nice chapter!
Author's Response: Yay I'm glad you are on Lyss's side. You have to keep in mind though that Angel has never met Alyssa so she's kind of figuring she fits into the category of all of the rest of Nick's wonderful exes. We'll have to see how these thoughts impact them.
