This is going to sound totally weird, but I almost forgot about Shayla. We are so wrapped up in Nick and Alyssa's world and a bit of Sean that she fell by the wayside...we better not forget about her...she is manipulative and coule reap some havoc just like Meg predicted last chapter. I am glad Nick talked to Angel, it showed things from his POV and the other potential collateral damage. This could all turn very very ugly...I can't wait!

Author's Response: Yea... It's really tough sometimes to not only write about Nick and Alyssa, but their spouses as well. Shayla did get a lil lost in the shuffle, but she'll be I think playing a bigger part in the next few chapters. It was nice writing the Nick and Angel scene because you're right. We got to hear Nick's side on the issue. Thanks for the review Darby!

Angel is right, for the first time Aylssa holds all the cards and Nick is playing a dangerous game. The one thing that is going to stop Alyssa is the spotlight and media backlash, WHEN Shayla finds out it's going to be leaked big style! She is going to look like the innocent victim and Alyssa is going to be painted as the home wrecker.
I'm glad that Steph and her are talking again though because it was such a double standard, hasn't she ver heard the phrase boyfriends will come and go by friends and sisters are forever?!
Good chapter can't wait for the next!
Author's Response: Yea its kind if interesting how the tables can turn right? I can see Shayla spinning the story exactly like you predicted, but don't expect a media backlash so soon. It will happen, but the shit hasn't quite hit the fan yet. It was good though that Alyssa and Steph are talking again. It really was kind of stupid and honestly a plot line I just wanted to end. I regretted beginning it in the first place so its refreshing that it's done with now.

I'd like to say that I agree with everything Meg said in this chapter ! Even though it was a slower chapter in terms of action *NO NOT THAT KIND OF ACTION! Lol* I really liked the way Meg and Alyssa's relationship was described.

LOl I figured you would agree with Meg. She's displaying the logical levelheaded side. It was a lil slow, but I did want to highlight Alyssa and Meg's relationship especially to those who didn't read UMS.

Personally, I think Nick is worth it. Period. Whatever "it" is, he's worth it. But honestly, I guess i was being naive too bcause I considered the reactions from her family, but I completely forgot about this whole thing finding its way into magazines and fun stuff like that. interesting to think about. her and nick need to talk lol. awesome chapter.
Author's Response: Nick is definitely worth it, but I as a writer haven't gotten into the whole scandal aspect of this all yet. I thought it would be a good idea to bring it up in Alyssa's mind, so its there. It'll definitey impact her willingness to jump right back into things w/Nick. Her and Nick DO need to talk though. You're right about that.

She hit the nail on the head, Sean was just trying to fill the gap that Nick left, she never really stopped loving him and I don't think that he has ever really stopped loving her. She's with Sean because he is more reliable, would never cheat, and has been accepted by her family. She is living to their expectations but she's not happy.
Being with Nick is different. He hasn't been the best person to be with, in actual fact he was a bit of a shit. But now he has grown up and I am hoping that he has changed. She loves him, even after all the crap he has done to her, even though her family doesn't approve and that is saying something.
I think what Meg was saying about the backlash was true. Alyssa was so niave to think that she would tell Sean they'd get divorced and her and Nick could live happily ever after. It's going to play on her mind and I have a feeling it is going to cause some problems between her and Nick.
Nice Chapeter, can't wait for more!

Yes you are dead on with everything you just said. That is exactly how Alyssa feels. She's torn because does she stay with the man with the more steady track record, but the one she really doesn't love, or should she risk it all to be with her true love who isn't the most predictable guy? I think that even though Nick has changed so much, there is still a small part of Alyssa that is afraid he may pull the rug out from underneath her again, especially after her conversation with Meg. This will change her perceptions a bit about her situation with Nick.
About the backlash its something that Alyssa honestly hasn't thought about. She's been too focused on the right here, right now. The backlash will be ugly, and I think it might make her second guess her descion to be w/ Nick a lil. That'll defnitely be coming into play in an upcoming chapter. Thanks for in the depth review! I loved it!

Author's Response: I think they would. You know how much the media loves scandals and with Nick and Shayla both being in the entertainment business it would definitely be tabloid fodder.
