Author's Response: Another reader pointed that out to me and I hadn't even realized it, but it makes sense that Nick backed off knowing things were getting heated out of respect for her and to show her that he's not in it just for sex. No actually that was probably a good move. Not that it wouldn't have made things REALLY interesting, but I think that at some point it goes beyond pregnancy hormones, which is fine if that's the direction you want to take the story. But obviously you're still keep some morality involved.. at least for now lol, so you don't want her to just transform into a completely different and sex obsessed person. If you're worried about alyssa's actions in this chapter, you can always put some of the blame on her being pissed at sean right now. Let's face it, pissed off pregnant women are vengeful lol
Author's Response: Oh yea lol Sean has a lot to do with her actions, but yea I think it was a smart move. Way too much too soon and not in Alyssa's personality at all even with raging hormones. Maybe there will be a point where she gets there, but of course not right away. Haha Sorry if you feel cheated though. Next chapter may offer you SOME consolation.

This was a good chapter so no worries. I know you want this story to come across as believable, but at the same time, it is fiction so you can stretch "reality" a little. But honestly I don't think this chapter was so out there that it's not even plausable. In fact, I think it could happen pretty easily if the right people were involved. Don't doubt yourself. You're a good writer.

Thanks for the reassurance. What mostly bothered me was whether or not I was stretching Alyssa in a way that was believable for her. I mean yes, I have the pregnancy hormones to fall back on and pin the blame on, but I'm also a little afraid of making her do or say something that is just not in her personality. Little secret, but I've actually scaled back on a few events that were supposed to happen in my outline because I felt that it was almost TOO much for her at this point with Nick. For instance last chapter was originally supposed to end in a blowjob and ths chapter was supposed to have a little action going on underneath the table *winks*

Author's Response: I know! I didn't want to leave it like that, but then ths chapter would have been even longer and you'd have to wait even more for an update. I'll try to get the next one out soon. They are defnitely a lot more flirty and comfortable around each other which is a relief for all of you readers I think.

All caught up, yay! Oooh Sean made Alyssa mad! this must be so weird having her husband not agree with her yet Nick is supporting her no matter what she decides... she should think about that! Its good that Nick is cooling it down a bit that way Alyssa doesnt think that hes taking advantage of her situation. Yay they went out to dinner... theyre being more and more like a couple.. Alyssa is being so much foward now and I think that surprises Nick but like it too! Oohh such a good cliffhanger with the kiss and leaving together holding hands... I need an update soon! Youre doing such a great job with ALTOS Mel, I know writing about this side of Alyssa is new for you but its AMAZING so far!
Author's Response: Yea it definitely is hard and it of course is pushing her more and more towards Nick who supports her no matter what she decides. That is also a good point about him cooling things down. I hadn't thought of it in quite that way before, but you are right. Alyssa is definitely more bolder than usual although I think the hormones are a big part of that too lol. I definitely think Nick has no complaints though. It wasn't supposed to be a cliffy, but that's how it wound up. I'm going to try to get the next part out soon, but i have papers to grade and plans to write and then tomorrow night I'm finally getting to go see Sex in the City. So depending on how tired I am maybe mid week. We'll see though. I'm SOOOO glad you're enjoying it Thia! Alyssa has actually been very hard to write these past few "hormonal" chapters because it feels almost like a new character, so I'm glad that you seem to be getting it.

I agree with Alyssa when it comes to the breast feeding issue! Its her decision and although it amy be "healthier" for the baby, its not necessary! It may seem selfish, but she going to be the one breastfeeding, and no one else, so it should be up to only her! Im so glad Nick understood her although that must have been one of the most interesting convos. for him haha all about her boobs! Im glad theyre spending so much time together! And it finally happened, although they didnt completely hook up, its a start! I have a feeling Alyssa is going to keep going back to Nick so he can "help" ease her hormones! Now what is gonna happen with Nick being so hands on in her life and the baby's, if Sean comes back soon?

I seriously did not realize how much of an issue breastfeeding is until I posted this chapter! I'm not sure where I stand on it. I was not breast fed as my child and neither were my two brothers and sister and we all turned out fine. I know the statistics and it makes sense, but I think it should be a matter of choice. I have a LOOOOOONG time before I have to worry about breastfeeding, but I'm not sure if I'd do it personally. I just couldn't see Alyssa doing it and I can definitely see Kim being the huge advocate for breast feeding and the type to freak out like everytime her child puts his fingers in his mouth because of germs. I think Alyssa is a lot more laidback and willing not to always listen to "the experts."
And yes that must have been one awkward conversation for Nick to sit through while she rants about boobs! LOl But he DID ask. They are slowly beginning to spend more and more time together which could only lead to more and more attraction. And yes I think Nick will definitely have a hand in easing those hormones. Interesting twist that now ALYSSA is using him for sex, right? LOL

Oh Gosh! Im so glad the baby's okay! It would have been so sad if anything happened! Alyssa cant risk handling those probs. that come up now, its better that her TA handle it... Its so crazy how Nick is being there and supporting her with everything! Hopefully Alyssa realizes that hes changed and can be there for her and thae baby, and maybe its worth giving themselves another chance! But then again thats to easy, right? lol! I think Alyssa has definitely learned her lesson and will let Donna handle the meltdowns from now on. She can't risk anything happening to the baby. Nick is definitely trying to show her he's serious, but it might take Alyssa a little longer to come around completely and of course Sean complicates matters. And yea it's a girl :)

Ooohh I loved the long chap. so much happened! Awww I loved Nick and Alyssa dancing together but then jealous Shayla had to come interrupt! I loved that Nick did the toast at Howies wedding, I didnt expect it but it fit, and it also gave him a chance to say a lot of things to Alyssa indirectly, good job, Carter! Im so GLAD that Nick finally told Alyssa that he wants to be the babys dad and that he loves her! I know Alyssa prob. thinks that he just feels obligated but he'll just have to prove it to her! Author's Response: Yea again the toast was actually Teri's idea and I was like Hmm... That could really be interesting. It was a very good way of speaking his feelings to Alyssa indirectly. It was great that Nick actually laid out his intentions, but Alyssa does find it to be a lot at once. It may take her a while to come around.

Im glad that at least Alyssa and Nick were okay with eachother at Howies's wedding... haha that would have been scandalous if they hooked up in the church at Kevins wedding, I could imagine Nick doing it but not Alysaa... Wow, they actually hooked up, it shouldnt surprise me because I know when theyre around eachother there is a MAJOR attraction there! Author's Response: LOL Yea that whole idea was actually born out of a very interesting convo Teri and I had that was misinterpreted. She thought I meant that they'd hooked up IN church and I was like OMG no! LOl So i had to add it in. And yea it definitely laid a very large guilt trip on both Nick and Alyssa abot Katie which you'll see more in future chapters. Thanks a lot sweetie!
