omg omg omg cant beleive that bitch would do that to nicky so glad that he wants to end it with her, she had it coming to her. poor alyssa for so thought she was pregnant :( and for sean being such an ass. i hope nick and alyssa sleep together at the condo then she will become pregnant but with nicky's baby hehe so good cant wait for more.

Wow... did not expect Nick to find out about Shayla so soon! I'm glad they're getting a divorce, not just because I want Alyssa and Nick to get together (though of course I do :P) but because she really is a manipulative bitch. I feel so awful for Alyssa. She wants to get pregnant so bad and it's just not happening for her. That and Sean really needs to get a clue. Obviously she's stressed out about the whole thing, and mentioning it at such an intimate time isn't going to help. Guh, I can feel the tension! Nick and Alyssa ended up at the Condo together, eh? I'm excited about that, should make for some more interesting drama. I can really see them having a better relationship this time around, they've both grown up so much since last time they were together, so it will be very interesting to see where this leads. Great job as always Mel! I'm very much looking forward to the next chapter =)
Author's Response: Yea it was pretty soon for Nick to find out already, but I kind of decided this was for the best with everything I have planned, plus it makes a lil different from Dani's story which is good. I know we all feel SOO bad for Alyssa because she REALLY wants to get pregnant and its just a REALLY frustrating situation not being able to. The Sean/ Alyssa scene had a LOT of tension which will carry over to Alyssa and Nick next chapter. I'm glad though that you really think they could work out this time around. I've worked really hard to stetch ther characters in this story so yay!

Your such a tease!!! Wow is all I can say. I had a feeling that Shayla wasn't actually pregnant but I commened Nick for calling Alyssa and saying that being friends was too difficult for the sake of his "unborn child!"
Now Shayla oh she's a difficult one, I like her and I do feel sorry for her because it is quite obvious that Nick doesn't love her like he should, those feelings are saved for Alyssa. I don't agree with what she did though, that was just below the belt.
I can't wait for the next chapter! All alone in an apartment, Alyssa all wet! They are so going to get in on and I bet she gets pregnant by him!

Thanks lol I try! Wow you may be my only reader who likes Shayla which is really cool. I try to write my characters as unbiased as possible even though a character like Shayla is hard to write and NOT make her a complete villian. I'm trying more to write her along the lines of a woman who is just desperate to do anything it takes to keep her husband.
I'll try to get the next chapter out soon, but it might take me a while being the perfectionist I am, but hopefully you won't be disapointed.

Yes! The witch is out of the way... for now, but I don't think it would be that simple... I see something bad coming from her! And Sean, he should give Alyssa some space and treat her with love, he just thinks she's a baby maker machine! I'm really starting to think that Nick will be the one who'll get her pregnant... I smell big drama on the way!
Author's Response: You're right Monica... I wouldn't say that Shayla is gone completely either. Sean and Alyssa's relationship is really on the rocks right now. You're right he DOES have to change the way he treats her and stop obsessing over a baby, but will he? And VERY interesting prediction about Nick getting her pregnant. If you're correct on that one you're right, there will be HUGE drama up ahead!

Yea it definitely takes somebody pretty manipulative to do what Shayla did. But don't count her out yet. As for Sean you're completely right, but he's just so blind and focused on having a baby that he just doesn't understand why its hurtful to Alyssa. Thanks a lot Rose!

I FINALLY started this Mel! I finally had a few minutes to myself, and I was sitting here going "Now what in the world could I do?" and then I thought of you and this glorious story and here I am. I know it's weird to comment on the first chap when you have plenty after, but I couldn't help myself. Loved this damned chapter. I flew through it! I was so engrossed lol I cringed when Alyssa went to talk to Nick and Shayla... can we say awkward?? Goodness. Awesome writing Mel! You're amazing, I must say. So i think it's great they're trying to go to a fertility clinic really shows that they need to go through it together even though he may be deployed. It'll be interesting for sure to see how everything unfolds with any possible pregnancy for them. I think the whole dream with serena is a good foreshadow of what's to come in terms of Nick's reactions about Shayla. It's going to be really interesting to see where they all go with everything. Keep it up hon!

So I was reading the reviews that everyone has posted to see what people think might be going on, and i realized that I, like everyone else but two people, forgot about the dream. But I actually think I know why. I'll be completely honest, in one of the earlier chapters you mentioned something about nick being married to katie and i was like .. WHAT??! lol.. That whole part of under my skin I read over a year ago, and I completely forgot that nick got another girl pregnant and that he ended up marrying her. So, I guess the reason i slipped passed the dream is because the significance of it escaped my memory a LONG time ago. I have a really crappy memory lol, my bad.
on that note, I thought it was an interesting aspect when I read it. To me, it was almost like Nick suddenly felt like he was getting a second chance to have a child, and maybe he wasn't fearing it AS much. At the same time, I think it left him scared shitless because he was probably sitting there thinking.. "look what happened last time.. I don't want to go through that again." And perhaps that's why he uses work as his excuse to not have kids; he knows what it's like to lose one.
Author's Response: Yea I know I kind of abandoned the whole Katie and Serena mystery in UMS for a while, but I'm carrying it over to this story for a few reasons. You'll definitely find out what happened (although I'm sure you have an idea by now) I just wanted to save it to reveal at certain points so it parallells the present. I think it slipped a few readers minds plus I believe I have some readers who may not have read UMS so I placed the dream in there as kind of a reminder as well as the other reasons you mentioned, I think you're right when you say that the loss of Serena had an impact on his desicion to not have kids.
