Author's Response: Damn you caught me! That was exactly what I was going for. I feel for Shannon, every one seems to be agianst her, people seem to forget that she has been through a lot and over the next chapter you will find out a bit more about her life. It may make you realise why she has a difficult time trusting people, particually men. Still no excuse for leaving Nick hanging though.

Author's Response: She's torn, well and truely. In her heart of hearts she knows she is making the wrong decision, she knows that Nick isn't like all the other guys who have let her down. He's always been there for her, through everything and I think that's what she is afraid of loosing. Her track record of lovers isn't the best and I think she feels that the same thing would happen with Nick but with him she wouldn't be loosing just a lover, she'd be loosing a best friend as well, she's just not strong enough to take the risk.

i hope she does run away somehow to florida ughh. i know she is selfish when it comes to nick but I didnt expect her to make her daughter miserable to especially after all she suffered through because of her mom. argh.
Author's Response: I think it would be a bit difficult for her to run away to Florida from New York, she might leave though and Shan might not know where she's gone. In her own crazy way Shan is doing it to protect Matilda from all the heart ache that she COULD go through, she feels like she has already let her down big time and she is trying to protect her anyway she can. Maybe it's not the best decision but then again I don't think Shannon is in the best frame of mind at the moment.rnThanks for the review.

Glad Nicky's throwing Matilda a Halloween party - I love Halloween!!!!!! I'm still peeved with Shannon for taking Matilda so far from him though, no matter what her reasoning may be!

Author's Response: But she is scared. She's let people in before, albeit the wrong people, and has been really hurt. Girl has major trust issues and regardless of Nick being there for her before, of not doing anything to hurt her she's still scared that it will all come crashing down.
