Another great chapter. I so relate to this fic, and this chapter really reiterated to me why. I'm the adoptive father of 3 of my sisters' kids. And I really suspect that she must have gone through what Brian is when deciding which of the kids to leave them with (though sadly I doubt she put quite as much time into it as Brian does, but I'm guessing her thoughts must have been at least somewhat similar...unless I'm giving her too much credit...erm yeah rambling again!). I'm pretty much the "Nick" of our family--the youngest, the well-meaning-but-not-always-completely responsible (though I became so after being entrusted with kids...), loved kids but never wanted to be a dad (until I became one...now wouldn't give it up for the world...) Anyhoo, this chapter and especially Brian's journal really reflect a lot of my own situation and rings pretty true.
Still loving the fic, sorry haven't been able to get caught up, but still working on it!!!
Author's Response: Wow! Thank you, so much, for sharing that, with me. I was aware of your three children, but had no idea the circumstances, in which, they became yours. I can see how you are able to relate, to the story, on a different level than other readers. Children, really, flip your life around...especially when you aren't expecting them...and even more, when they aren't your own. My daughter was unexpected and threw my life, for a loop, but at least I had pregnancy, to get used to the idea.
Anyways, I am so happy that you are still enjoying the story. Oh, and don't be sorry about taking your time, to catch up. I know, and understand, that you're a busy guy. I had read most of this before, but I see you changed some things around. I think it turned out great...
so onto the chapter...I think Kevin has a really big stick up his beautiful ass and someone needs to take it out. I'm surprised at how calm AJ actually was talking to him, I'm glad he kept his cool. It was also funny how Baylee slipped a curse...and it just so happened that mister perfect heard it. lmao!! I hope that the bickering stops soon, before the kids starve. Oh and I love that Howie finally gave them a piece of his mind...I am going to make sure you update soon. Woot!

Oh god, this is so sad, can't believe Kristin is dead. Kevin is a complete asshole and I'm glad he's in jail.
