I really like the voice you've given Baylee. You can tell that he's basically a good kid, but he's at the age where he *obviously* knows better than his guardian(s) (lol) and is your pretty typical stubborn teenage boy questioning authority...
Author's Response: He, really, is basically a good kid...he's got normal teenage issues and so much more weighing on him. Any kid that age will question authority...especially if it's coming from someone who isn't their real parent. I know this first hand...my step daughter can be a complete brat to me! lol. Really nice starting chapter. It's got a good hook to pull you in immediately (and yeah, it'd be pretty hard to argue "no tattoos" when you're covered in 'em yourself. lol). I like how you've filled us in on the sad fate of Baylee's mom and dad without getting too drudged down (it's sad, of course, but the tone still stays at least somewhat "up" so it doesn't just make you totally depressed.--and you've done a good job of distancing Baylee from it a bit because when it happened he was too young to really understand...) Anyhoo, great start! (Got a long way to go to catch up...eeps!)

I liked that little awkward moment between Bay and Morgan...lol!! Although I had already read it, it still made me chuckle. Now what was funny, was their reaction to MOrgan as a hottie, not even Nick knew what to say...what a moron. Then Baylee, stuttering and all, I think he is starting to see her in a different light. About time! Aw, Allison and Bay kissed, how cute. Now he has a girlfriend, I wonder how that is going to go with Morgan? You know best friends always get jealous too. Hum...I can' t wait to find out what happens next, then again I can just bug you about it on AIM. YAY!!! Very cute chapter.
