I love that Howie is evil! That is too funny. And that he has a twitching eye lol. I really liked the confrontation with Nick and Justin at the end. I feel so bad for Nick! I mean I felt bad for Justin too, but he's acting so ridiculous that it's hard to have sympathy for him. This chapter was really good!
Author's Response: Thanks! Dr. Rough is my absolute favorite character - it's just so fun to write sweet little Howie as this evil supervillain! LOL He has his own back story, though, as you'll see in future episodes. Glad you liked this part!

I do agree with Nick's thoughts on Justin for the most part. It sucks that he was discharged because of his injury, but if those are the rules then there's not really much that could have been done about it! It's not like what happened to Justin was done on purpose or anything. Clearly he is just really bitter lol. The end of this chapter was kind of freaky, with everyone singing along! I'm anxious to see what happens next!

First of all, Nick singing The Right Stuf... so funny. Especially because of NKOTBSB. And I do stuff feel kinda bad for Justin. Even though he's starting to turn into a drama queen (in the flashbacks, I mean). A robotic eye doesn't seem much better to me than having no eye at all!
Author's Response: Thanks! LOL I know, so crazy that we had him sing a NK song, cause this was written in like 2007, way before we ever imagined something like NKOTBSB would happen. LOL Justin's a little bitch, I agree. The robo eye is totally better than no eye at all, so he should be grateful, instead of vengeful and bitter.

I'm glad that we got some flashbacks with Nick and Justin working together. I was sort of confused as to what Justin's motivation really was so it's nice to have some backstory. I do enjoy that he's called Drums lol. I can definitely see why he's so bitter.
Author's Response: Thanks! We had fun writing this episode and working that back story in through the various characters' flashbacks. The Drums thing has been a joke of mine for years, ever since "Like I Love You," and I love that it carried over into this story LOL.

Nick's audition was amusing, doing the As Long As You Love Me chair dance to If You Want It To Be Good Girl...ha! I thought that the comment about it being from some horrid late ninties boyband took the joke a little too far, but I do have to wonder what boybands would have been like back then without BSB of Nsync since they're busy being secret agents lol.

Honestly I found the scene with Diamond singing Hey Nicky to be a little awkward. I just felt sort of embarrassed for her. I'm not sure if that's what you were going for, maybe it was since the one judge seemed to think her performance was not so great. But I guess it worked out since she made it through to the next round!
Author's Response: We were trying more to go for humor, rather than awkward, but I can kind of see how it would be. Looking back at that scene recently (since you and Mel are reading, we've been rereading lol) I (Rose) think that scene kind of drags a bit. Thanks for the honesty!

The mental image of Nick getting more and more annoyed every time Mambo #5 came on really amused me lol. I kind of hope that "Damnit Pearl!" becomes his catch phrase. I also liked when the mission started burning through his pants, that made me laugh!

As usual I am loving the fact that hyou are using REAL figure skaters and REAL facts about them which is kind of neat. And OMG I totally forgot about those God awful mascots!
Author's Response: Thanks! This episode was a fun challenge because it was kind of last minute; we scrapped another idea we had planned and came up with the Olympics idea about two months before the actual 2010 Winter Olympics, and of course, we wanted to be timely and have the episode ready to post then, so we actually got our act together and wrote it in two months, which is impressive for us. We had to research ahead of time who the top skaters probably we were going to be, and we might slight changes to reflect who actually qualified, but Kim Yu-Na was our girl all along, so it was exciting to see her actually win at the real Olympics. I've always loved watching the figure skating, but it was especially fun after doing all this research for this episode LOL. Thanks for noticing and appreciating it! And OMG, we were so amused by the mascots!
