I really enjoyed that story. Loved the happy ending too, that scene kind of reminded me of Bridget Jones Diary where Bridget was in her underwear in the snow, only she was in London in about 2000 lol.
Author's Response: I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I've never seen that movie but I'll take that as a complement! Haha :D
I guess this brings me back to my original concern about this story... Should it have been an original story with all original characters instead or did you think it worked?

How romantic! What a perfect reunion, I think I know what will come of the good feeling :)
Author's Response: Aww, I'm glad you were able to forgive her too!

Yay, she's going to go after him! I just hope he's still there and that he'll listen to her.
Author's Response: I think she's proven she can be pretty convincing :P

Hmm I wonder where he'll go now? Will he go exploring and following his dreams? What will become of Charlotte? Will her family forgive her I wonder! I can understand how Nick feels, but just wish she'd been able to follow her own dreams without having to shatter his.
Author's Response: I've considered writing a sequel, even a short story, just to give an idea of what happened to them later but I didn't want to spoil the characters. I wish they both could have had all that they wanted, too!

Oh god, she was so close to getting away with it too. She probably shouldn't have copied Nick's work, especially as she was going to the same university as him! Will she actually go to prison though? Will he soften and help her? I hope they'll get a happy ending and that he can understand why she did what she did.
Author's Response: I don't think she thought far ahead enough to consider how she was going to keep up two lives without one of them suffering. Unfortunately, and quite ironically, her quest for independence ultimately ends with her fate left in Nick's hands.

OMG imagine getting arrested for that in these times! Poor Sue, how awful to have that happen when she was only trying to make things better for women.
I wonder if Charlotte will meet her deadline, or will something get in the way?
Author's Response: There were some pretty ridiculous laws in the 19th century! Worth a Google for sure. :D

Oh crap, she's been found out! What will he do now? Hopefully he'll forgive her and realise that birth control isn't evil, how narrow minded they were in those days.
Author's Response: So narrow minded! This time period is when feminism really began. Things like the use of birth control spawned the suffrage movement for the right to vote, education rights and eventually abortion being declared a constitutional right in the US. The late 1800's were really a pivotal time for feminism but also some of the hardest fought battles if only because very few people (even women) were on board at that point.

Aw poor Nick, hope he's better soon! That was a good excuse to get out of going, but hope it doesn't backfire on her.
Really enjoying this story, it's great to read a historical fiction again and I really enjoy the way you write :)
Author's Response: Of course it'll backfire on her :P
Again, glad you're liking it! I had considered doing something else historical soon but it does take a lot of research as you know.

Glad Charlotte has Sue to help with her little deception, I'm hoping she'll be a good friend. How awful that women weren't allowed in places like that in those days though, then she wouldn't have had to go to all that trouble.
Author's Response: It's surprising how long traditions like this continued! Women really were second class citizens not that long ago. Still are in some places!

Not the most romantic of proposals is it, but I'm hoping they'll end up falling in love by the end :) Hmm, so what's she hiding from him?
Author's Response: At least he got to ask instead of just being told! Lol

Like the Jack The Ripper references, I suppose back in those days women were sheltered from news stories like that as they were considered too weak to handle it.
Author's Response: I really wanted to make sure there was some pop culture reference that would set the time for someone who may not understand what that time period looked like as far as clothes, architecture, etc and figured something like Jack the Ripper being current would help that

Poor Charlotte, it must've been awful for girls in those days. Imagine having to just look after a husband when you'd rather be doing something exciting!
I love historical stories, so I know I'm going to enjoy this already :)
Author's Response: AAh so many reviews to respond to! Lol glad you're enjoying it thus far. How did I do on my British accuracy? :P

This is the first historical romance I've read and I have to admit I loved. I look forward to reading more of your stories.
Author's Response:
Wow thanks! Always exciting to get a review on something older :) I haven't written a historical romance in a long time but I always enjoy writing them so maybe someday!

I am loving these historical romances of yours, keep 'em coming. :)
Author's Response: Geez, no pressure! :P Thanks for the review. It's been a while since I wrote my last historical romance, but I have been thinking about maybe a sequel to this one so we shall see!
