The emotions that were put into this chapter were just spot on..he was mad..and pissed off at the whole world...I could not imagine getting news like this and just be ok with it all...and ironically while reading this chapter 10,000 Promises came on ;)

I mean no one would be okay but with Nick, there had to be some serious anger. LOL @ 10,000 Promises, it's legitimately my favorite song they've ever done. I have a special attachment to it as well cause on the first cruise the Boys did I sang the song with them for karaoke LOL.

You have the feelings and dreads written very well. I can relate to the fear of being tested, hoping that it's nothing major in your head the entire time you are being examined/tested. The feelings he has when the doctor tells him something is wrong, I can say I wanted to do that when getting news from the doctor, it's very emotional and well written.

I love the anxiety you expressed when Nick forgot the words to the song. I have been there and it's a horrifying feeling! In fact, you are making me paranoid thinking I have whatever it is he has! I forget things all the time AND leave my stuff in weird places and don't remember doing so. That being said, I'm glad you had him going to the doctor this early in the fic and stayed away from putting it off. That's always been one of my biggest pet peeves in medical dramas. I am once again loving the anxiety while he's at the doctor's office. You write an anxious Nick very well!

I have to admit one of the reasons I didn't start reading this fic until now is because I was afraid you were going to go the whole Nick partied too hard and now his heart is giving out route like so many people tend to want to do when someone get's diagnosed with something. So, once again I'm going to say something really weird "Yay Alzheimer's!"
Author's Response: Thanks, I can see that as Nick's biggest fear. Cause seriously, that's never happened on a public appearance as far as I know in the fandom. So that's a huge deal. And oh no! I don't want you thinking you have that! lol.
You know, I debated on how I was going to diagnose him, and talked to Julie cause I wanted to have it happen early. Cause I felt too much fluff to put it off was useless lol, so thank you. And thanks about anxious Nick! I live in his head sometimes, scary place lmao.

Wow. This chapter is simply amazing and ironic. You already know about my trip to the ER, but my gosh, it's as if everything you wrote was EXACTLY what I went through, just, not as serious as Nick's situation turned out to be, lol. (Ironically too, my doctor's appointment is at 10:15 tomorrow morning. ;)) Everything from the doctor's dialogue to his MRI experience (which, I went through that as well a couple years back). I was seriously just tripping. I seriously "aww'd" when he talked about how he wanted to call Kevin as he walked into the examination room and how he thought of him. :( But my gosh, this was some heavy stuff. Poor Nick! Great update hun, can't wait for the next one! :)
P.S. Thanks for the update, totally helped to make me feel a bit better. ;)
Author's Response: Thank you! I did a LOT of research as to what happens in the procedure, what questions are usually asked, etc. It's good to know I did in fact get all that right :). Did you know there's youtube videos of MRIs and CT scans? I didn't before I wrote this lol. The timing is a bit ironic since you ended up at the ER after I posted this this morning :(. I'm telling you, if Nick was going through this, I bet anything he'd think of Kevin rather than of Bob Carter. And yeah, I feel bad how much I'm putting Nick through...but it makes a good story? lmao. Thanks Reb, feel better!

I knew it! I didn't think I'd actually guess right though. Aw poor Nick :( It's an awful thing, especially for someone so young. Very well written though, I think he reacted exactly how anyone would to that news (especially a 35 year old).
